GAME I don't like Alabama

Years ago.....when Saban was at LSU, I remember he often spoke of not trying to play better than the guy you are assigned to cover or block or whomever you are matched against....don't even concentrate on doing that.

He didn't want the players to worry about some star player on the other team and what he's been doing in the past. He reminded the players that they had no control of what the player matched against them would do or even who that player would be.

All they could control is what they would do and what player they would be. Would they be a player that finished each play strong? That never quit? That played with a purpose?

He preached that they should only concentrate on the things they were trained to do and to do them to the best of their ability on each play. If they did that they would find success as a team. It's the way he coaches his players to view their role on the team.

It's a winning philosophy!

It's really made worse by the fact Bama was really, really lucky to win in the SEC (National) CCG last season. The Gators had it and fumbled in the red zone...unbelievable. That makes today's game seem possible.

But we all realize that's because we had Pitts. We lost the game before Bama to shitty LSUx because Pitts sat out. Nobody could stop Kyle to Kyle, not even Bama. Pitts is gone now and we'll be lucky to put up 21 pts.
