I need help/advice

@Illustrious Potentate watch a lot of Caddy Shack I & II. Just as good as any Fuzzy Zoeller instructional video

Most courses will have clubs you can rent.

My hillbilly course does and it’s $2 for a bucket of balls.

Do any of your friends have a spare set of clubs you can borrow? You can get range balls cheap at wal mart or any sporting goods store. And just hit into a tarp at your house.
I’ve been told not to worry about clubs. I just want a few to practice in the mean time, my grandpa has a bunch, but he’s 6’6, and I’m 6 foot even. I have have plenty of golf balls. They’re my rat terrier’s favorite toy

Nah, he needs to get him some of those little nerf plastic balls because its challenging enough to hit a real ball those are harder
This little wiffle ball things never made sense to me. Maybe for inside the house, but you’re gonna break stuff with a club just as easy as a ball.

Went to a local range(no drivers allowed) with a buddy that plays a lot of golf and is in the same thing and on my team. He really helped me a lot with proper grip and stance and finally got me to stop swinging the club like I would a baseball bat.

I was routinely putting the ball pretty close to the 150 yard pin with a 7 iron, and since me and the other captain will be starting at the 150 yard markers, I think I’m in alright shape all things considered.

I am not a golfer or a fan of the game.

Some of my buddies put together a Ryder Cup weekend for the friend group and associates. I didn’t even know what the Ryder Cup is or what it meant.

I agreed to be a captain. Thought that meant I just l picked a team and otherwise just drink and not have to play. Other captain is in the same boat as me. We’d rather fish the golf course ponds than play golf. But it turns out we both have to play

They made some special rules for the two of us, but the thing is I haven’t swung a golf club at all since I lived at home and just drove golf balls into the woods behind my parents house and have never swung any club other than driver and putter.

I don’t have any golf clubs or anything.

Would going to top golf be worth doing to practice driving the ball straight?

I’m mostly worried about holding up people that aren’t a part of the group. I’ve been told I picked the best team tonight and me and the other captain are both easily gonna be the worst players on our teams, but I think I’d rather wrestle a grizzly bear. Kinda makes me dread a weekend I was really looking forward to
Scary ass bitch

sounds like a good start.

work on putting and around the green if you feel comfortable enough from 150 out.

and have fun...take a couple cuts from the tees, you might surprise yourself.

and but a lot of cheap balls because you're gonna lose them.

and practice shotgunning beers...at least that's what me and my friends do when we do well on a hole

We practiced putting a little bit yesterday. I was pretty well on target, got to get my speed under control though. We’re gonna go a couple times a week leading up.

One day is scramble and one day is best ball. The head to head day is the only one I’ll start from the 150 marker. Driving is actually where I’m most confident. I probably hit a million golf balls into the woods behind my parents house. It’s been a while, but I used to be able to get ahold of the ball

short game is going to be where you need to shine...like 50 yds off the green and stuff. If you can get good at that, you will be very helpful to your team.

and putting...get good at putting

And also, I found some khaki overalls on Amazon. Put on a collared shirt over em, and that’s a game changer. Been wearing overalls so long, when I’m forced to wear pants, everything feels weird

put the collared shirt under it, it will be funnier...and you will still meet the dress code

or just go full on Bubba Watson

Now if Tony Lama makes a golf shoe, I’m golden

Saw those too. I woulda posted it for @Illustrious Potentate if they were pink

I have had a few lessons, and if this responsibility was dropped in my lap, I would crap my pants repeatedly. There has to be some injury you can fake. In all seriousness, best of luck.
