I Was Clearing Out a Closet Today ...

Hell I look thru them everyday.......
69 Mantle(my only one)
4 Clementes
4 Willie Mays
Nolan Ryans plus more.....

Nit saying they are in great shape, but worth a lot.....

Sold my Jordan and Payton rookie cards, but still have the Jordan rookie sticker......

Well damn you could make some serious money!

I collected during the same time period, and almost all are worthless. The ones I have that are worth something are the factory sealed 89 upper deck sets and the unopened wax box of 89 upper deck packs. All the other sets, singles, and packs are pretty much worthless. For now.

About 5 or 6 years ago I went through a spell buying up factory sealed 89 upper deck sets. They could be bought for about $20 each. So I have probably a dozen.

My folks moved a few years ago, so I took all my old cards from their house. Sat and went through them, most are worthless (except sentimental value), but I did find a Ricky Henderson rookie, and a Danny Ainge (yes from the Celtics) rookie with the Blue Jays.

I've got a lot of cards from that era in binders and boxes filling a storage closet. Some complete sets, most not. Football, baseball, basketball, hockey and more. Bunch of legendary player rookie cards mixed in there; personal favs include Dan Marino, Barry Sanders and Steve Yzerman.

What's kinda silly is that the "Yo! MTV Raps" cards I've got might be worth more than most of my sports cards...

Back in the day, if a kid would flag down a local police patrol car, the cop would hop out and give you some specially printed cards of local Packers or Brewers players of that year. I've still got some of those and I wouldn't be surprised if some of those are more valuable than nationally-traded cards. It all depends on how much someone is willing to pay for them...

89 score football was the goat set
89 score baseball are almost all worthless except some error cards. But to this date it is my favorite card set. It was one of the first packs I was able to buy with my own money, still remember going into eckards with my mom, buying it, and sitting in the car opening it. Those cards were completely different and simple compared to the topps/fleer/donruss at that time.

I pulled a shaq rookie trade in card when they were a thing, fleer ultra I think. And then for Topps 50th anniversary they had an insert that if you pulled it and there was an "x" on it then you won and could send it in for a random award from Topps. I pulled one and sent it in, got a 1952 Topps rando commoner card. But I was like the dad in a Christmas Story, that was my "major award". I think it is worth $2. lol

Lol,you earned it......when I started collecting,I was 11......my Mom and Dad sent us on bus to go to church, instead of putting my dollar in the collection plate,Id pocket it and went to the smoke shop to buy cards with it......12 to 15 cents for a pack of cards back then.
