Great chances that the PAC-12 will figure out a return to play and be back on October 31.
If this is the case, and given the B1G starts up the week before, should the SEC just wait until end of October to start their season as well? Big 12 and ACC could take some BYE weeks from now until late October as well.
Some might think, why should these other big conferences who decided to start early and were willing to play while the PAC and B1G canceled, be punished and delay their start as well, but if you think about it, a joint late start could benefit them too. If the B1G and PAC start at the end of October, their conference championship games will be played in time before the CFP committee makes their selection. Giving the PAC and B1G teams less time off between their CCG and the CFP, that could be an advantage for the B1G and PAC teams, less off time, means less rust. Also they would have only been playing since late October, and not late September, giving them an entire month less of playing time compared to the others. Wear and tear.
I wonder if it's a thought for at least the SEC, since they haven't started yet. It could be a benefit to starting later and still able to qualify for the CFP.
