If you could go back in time and see one band in their prime live, who would it be?

I suspect that if I could have dropped in to Woodstock a la Bill and Ted most excellently, that I might have enjoyed that immensely in a most bodacious way.

That would have been a motherfucker. Especially if you could phone booth yourself out and back and avoid the muck and overall uncomfortableness of shit weather and such.

But to see who you could have? All in one fell swoop! Without the discomfort? Beam in, beam out? I'd be in.
I would much rather have been at this taping:

El Paso civic center was where us fly boys at Holloman AFB went to catch the national acts. Saw AC/DC, Molly Hatchet, and a few other pretty good concerts there.
Oh good grief, Molly Hatchet is another one. Wow to have seen them in the day! That's some energy there.

I'm travelin' down the road
I'm flirtin' with disaster
I've got the pedal to the floor,
My life is running faster!

Did anyone say Motorhead? Or Testament? I'd kill to have seen either of them in Germany back in the day.

Not to derail the thread but holy shit, Testament can still bring it! I've watched this concert about 10x.

3 outstanding guitarists up on stage blowing the doors out of a small civic center, it was awesome. It's a shame that all of the original members of the band are dead.

How about to just 2 fucking years ago, when this dumb pandemic shit all over the world?

Faith No More, two years ago, had tickets...world got gay.

If you were in Molly Hatchet back in the day, chances are you weren't going to die of old age.

A musicians band. Metallica, Pearl Jam, Eddie Trunk, and many cite them as the best ever. I have seen that show. There are a couple early tv shows from Germany. Audience is like wtf and some crazy German guy dancing weird in 1973 show. The one with Rock Bottom in 1973 with different words. I lucked out once and met Pete Way in the El Dorado buffet in Reno. He and his girl decided to have dinner with us. What a moment that was talking UFO, Waysted, Fastway, etc. My wife is like wtf are you doing going to some guy and asking if he is Pete Way lol.

I'm thinking 2 Live Crew would've been a fun show to catch in 1989.

Testament fucking rocks

Van Halen with DLR......

Alice-n-Chains with Layne Staley.....

Linkin Park with Chester.....

Other than,not much.....
Saw Alice in Chains twice with Staley. Once on the Facelift tour before they were big, and they were great.

Second time? Not so great. Layne killed a 5th and a half of Jack Daniels in a 45 minute set, that mostly was just him making fart noises saying horribly crass shit. LOL He was fall down drunk.

I really dug their music, but since Layne has been gone theyve had one song that Ive liked and thats about it......

I always thought he had the best voice in the business and would of loved to go see them play.....
And Ive heard the same from a few others that seen AIC that he was a big partier.....hence why he died.

Shame too,he had it going on....

Ya, AiC died with Layne unfortunately. Some dark, sad tunes. Great band.
