I’m pretty sure I just got an entire paint crew fired

Do you know it was them?

Like, evidence it was them?
Yeah. It was fine early last week, we stopped production for them, walked the tower with them to tell them what needed done. It was fine then, nobody has been on the tower other than them over that time, and the glass was busted with a piece of plastic stuffed in there. I’m sure it happened during the sand blasting process. The glass itself is no big deal, it’s an easy fix and that oil was due to be changed in a couple weeks anyways, the fact they did it and didn’t say anything about it is what got me.

Fire up that feeder, that plastic falls out and all the oil spills out, you’re looking at being down for at least a week and replacing two very expensive bearings

how much of that $75K did your boss pocket?

Don't skim off the top, just have the person you paid take you out for a very nice and very expensive dinner followed by some kick ass seats to a sporting event. #TotallyUnrelated
much more ethical...I approve

To balance the universe I hired a paint crew this morning to paint my house. It's not $75k that's for damn sure, but I contributed to undoing the work of the rat.

Contractors hired to paint our primary tower for 75 grand. Personally I thought it was a stupid waste of money to begin with, but corporate sent us the money and told us to use it for that, so we didn’t really have a choice there

It took the fuckers over a week and they finally finished two nights ago. I inspected their work yesterday after they loaded everything up and left.

Overspray on everything, the windows on the control room for the tower weren’t even taped and you can barely see through them, the concrete wall on the back of the tower has safety yellow paint all over it, grease fittings, safety and caution signs and fire extinguishers all caked in paint, as are electrical boxes.

And to top it off, they busted two light fixtures on the tower and the sight glass on the oil tank for the feeder and stuffed a piece of plastic in there to keep all the oil from spilling out and didn’t say a word to anyone.

The owner of their company came by this morning, and my boss is never here when someone has to be the bad guy.

I showed the guy the pictures of the busted stuff, and showed him all the overspray. Pretty well told him it was a half ass job at best and that I personally wouldn’t recommend his company.

He seemed rather pissed. Apparently he has like 5 different crews, and two of them were at other locations of ours and did a great job.

I don’t feel bad about it.

I think I could have knocked out the paint job over a weekend if they let me drink for 50k

I think you handled this well enough not being the main boss.

I think your company should file a claim on their bond/insurance for damages and corrective work.

Fuckin' Quarry Karen over here getting dudes fired and bragging about it.
Huh, guess this explains his "Karen"comments directed at me. Someone likes passive aggressive behavior

My boss’s boss does the hiring for stuff like that.

But, they work for a company, that company can fire em after the job is done, especially that crew’s foreman

Most of those companies pick up their employees at Home Depot at 6:30 am and pay cash. They have no idea who they are

Anyone working on mine property has to be MSHA certified. Most day laborers aren’t. And that would be the whitest group of day laborers I’ve ever seen, and the day laborers probably would have done a better job

There's the problem.
