Important Alert: College Football starts THIS MONTH

Gossip Zip It GIF by TRT

UTEP gets their revenge and beats OU the next week.

Early in the season I get excited to watch ANY football games. And I have a few viewing interests because of the B10 teams playing+ UCONN who we face early in the season.

I'm not entirely sure why they didn't make the Nebraska/NW game an 8:00pm game in Ireland, which would have made it a 3:00pm game here? 11:30am is 8:30am on the West Coast (AKA Big Ten country :laugh3:)

EDIT neverminded, I see that's in CT. Still unnecessarily early.

Cater to Ireland. The reason they are over there is to spread Football (these attempts have had limited success however).

Definitely, still more exciting than NFL Preseason games. Still, it would be neat if we could get a couple of Kick-Off Classic game that week. They used to do that back in the day.

but wouldn't an 8pm event cater more to Ireland? When we have events here, they're at night. Obviously mid afternoon CFB games are common here, but if you're trying to sell them on the experience it seems like a night event would do that better.

Not really. 8 p.m. game is pretty late for anyone over 30 or under 18. 6:30 - 7:00 makes a little more sense. Still they could have moved it up an hour and catered to a lot of people.

It's a stand alone game for Fox properties at 12:30. If you stick it at 3:00, it runs up against Uconn/Utah State and Wyoming/Illinois, which are on FS1 & BTN respectively, that start at 4:00. Obviously, those games aren't going to draw massive numbers, but having 2 B1G teams play at the same time, with this little of inventory makes no sense. Also, idk if Fox plans to promote the NW/Nebraska as "Big Noon," but it's essentially the same time slot, and can promote "Big Noon's," slate of games the rest of the way. I'm gonna guess this game get 3 million+ viewers.

Sunset in Dublin that day is 8:26. It can't be a night game starting at 6:30
