Been there numerous times when I was stationed in Biloxi, MS in the AF. I've never had a bad time in the French Quarter or anywhere in Louisiana for that matter.
If I ever opt to snowbird, it will be somewhere in Louisiana hands-down.
I wouldn't even consider Nevada, Arizona, tejas, etc. where most people from this area snowbird to for the winters.
