Probably because they last a month now. Don't need to be as great of deals, if they just make them ok deals for a longer period.

I have been on the lookout for a storage bin that goes under the back seats of my pickup. Can't get over how expensive a molded piece of plastic is.

Yes. Prior to covid I was always tempted to get shit because of the deals around thanksgiving -- I remember shopping online on my phone during thanksgiving because they were so good. But the last few years they've been terrible. The thing that used to get me is that most sites would offer free shipping no minimum, and those have all but gone away. I used to load up on like $1 terminal tackle from Cabelas on black friday because they'd run crazy deals on fishing stuff and have no minimum. But now it's like $50 minimums on every site.

Ever used slickdeals? You can set up a deal alert on things like that and get notified if something pops up. I use it all the time and have saved a shit ton of time/money using it. If I know I want something and don't need it ASAP I'll just set up a deal alert and wait until it goes on crazy sale.

Finish out the week and off for the next week and half. I'll be thinking of you losers when I'm sitting on the beach in Jamaica drinking umbrella drinks. Not. Enjoy the cold weather, dorks.

A lot to unwrap here, but, bottom line, cyber shopping isn't all that.

Thanks for the tip!

Love shopping online. I buy almost nothing in-stores at this point. Before my yearly fishing trip last year I went to dicksports and they had like two isles of fishing stuff, waste of time. Used to be like 1/4 of the store. I like browsing for non-specific things in stores, but if I know what I want I'm probably not visiting a store to get it.

I am the same. I am going to get back into hunting next year so I need to restock some things. More and more the stuff you want isn't going to be on the shelves so you are better off ordering online. I think the stores want that too.

I'm not saying it doesn't have some good points but it still ain't all that. Online shopping is just an electronic Sears catalog. It is direct marketing writ large.

Things I love. The old Sears catalog lol. Basspro/Cabelas sends out a Spring Fishing catalog still that's like 200 pages and when it comes in the mail I transport back to 1997 and sit there and look at every single page.

I used to love the Cabela's catalogue

I still have a bunch of Cabelas catalogs from over the years. They and LL Bean are my go to Christmas present buying place.

I look at catalogs like physical books compared to an e-reader. Same content but physical experience goes with the old timers.

morning all

I've done some of my shopping, but need few more things
