Intuitive Machines-1, Odysseus, lunar landing is scheduled for 6:24 PM EST today. It was launched Feb. 15 by the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The Houston-based company, Intuitive Machines, is one of several commercial companies vying to support NASA's new moon landing program. It will be the first US-made spacecraft to touch down on the moon in five decades (1972).

Here's what's landing on the moon today aboard Intuitive Machines' Odysseus lander

NASA TV Live - NASA

The US lunar landing mission last month by Pittsburgh-based Astrobotic ended with the Peregrine lander burning up in the atmosphere as it careened back toward Earth10 days later.

In January, Japan's lander, SLIM, successfully landed on the lunar surface, but upside down.

Word is, it's broken and its radar has failed. There might be another landing attempt around 8:00 PM or it may crash.

The second astronaut, the lander, and can't tell what the crap is on the left.

Will it take 20 years for it to find its way home?

Odysseus is on its side. Better than Japan;s lander which is upside down.
First image from Odysseus. I rotated it for the best view. Blame the automated landing software. Hail, Neil Armstrong, '69!
