If you didn't give a fuck, then happiness isn't a prerequisite.
Introspection has to be done from a first or third-person standpoint. If you're only bouncing the weight of your actions on your own belief system independent of others' beliefs, then you're basically not giving a fuck....right? If you're being introspective from a third-person position you are actively weighing the beliefs of others in regards to your actions.
Ignorance IS bliss.
Introspection is like any tool whereas it can be a blessing or curse. Identifying your own failures and sins is only half the battle. Forgiving yourself is the other half. One without the other is poison.
