We woulda been a lot more competitive than ND. That game was basically over at the beginning of the 2nd quarter. Think we coulda at least hung with them but probably lose by like 10-14 (ND lost by 28 but they had to score a garbage TD in the 4th to even make it that)

The consensus on Fannation at the time was ND was gonna spank Bama despite Bama being heavily favored and ND’s best player having a fake dead girlfriend.

I even remember some comments after the SECCG like “at least you have a chance to win your bowl now UGA fans and won’t have to be embarrassed by ND like Bama will.

LOL. Fuck those people. Missed out on a natty by less than 5 yards and then get passed over for the Sugar Bowl by a Florida team we beat and were both 11-1 in the regular season, and Florida didn’t even bother to show up

I'm as big a Bama/SEC hater as any but i'm not stupid lol I knew Bama was going to roll over them easily. It pissed me off cause that shoulda been us. But it is what it is.

Wouldn't have mattered anyway. We just would have had to deal with a vacated title that year had they won

Plus the punishment was insane. They had some players getting help from a student trainer if I remember right and they get all that.

Good old NCAA and their wildly inconsistent enforcement of their rules.
 
Cam Newton and his dad getting away with whatever they wanted is probably the biggest joke "nothing to see here" treatment by the NCAA. But Reggie Bush? Take that Heisman!

I dunno. If the NCAA finds michigan guilty the last 3 years and makes them vacate wins from 2021-2023 (meaning over OSU and winning the B1G), their entire fanbase would be on suicide watch. Portnoy might kill himself on livestream.

Lol. Michigan is making a mockery of the whole thing, they deserve to get slapped. But the NCAA will probably walk away tail tucked between legs instead of making one final flex of nuts since their power as a organization is getting closer to zero every day.

Hard to think that FSU can win this game. That's why the CFP committee gave them Georgia instead of Liberty or Missouri.

However, FSU has near 4 weeks to prepare for this game, will likely have a chip on their shoulder, and Georgia might not want to be there since there's no potential for a natty.

Does anyone have a list of Georgia players that are sitting out?
