Is it creepy to visit gravesites??

here in Texas we have a quite a few

mickey mantle
dana x bible
and others..

is it creepy if someone visits them??

and yes...i've been to graceland....
Nope.

In fact one of my favorite websites (haven't been in a while) is findadeath.com
warning, you will get sucked in and go down a rabbit trail on that site.

ill have to check that out. i usually look at findagrave.com
findadeath gives a lot of info about famous deaths. though he has an odd fixation on taking pictures of the famous dead peoples mailboxes. :noidea:

There are also a lot of photos of death certificates as well as autopsy photos. So don't click those if you don't want to see it.

The new Faces of Death? I know you're old enough to remember those.

BINGO! Like what is the point???

It's the OG of virtue signalling.

Bwahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh look at how much I cared for this person! I'm so thoughtful because I'm standing in this grass by this rock with their name on it. Do you see how nice and thoughtful I am?

Because I brought it up means I do it? Not.

It means I have read stories about that kind of shit.
It was the first thing you brought to the thread for conversation, so it was clearly at the front of your mind...

Arlington
Hallowed ground. Made the hair on my arms stand up when I was wandering around on the hill behind the visitor's center.
One thing I've wanted to do my entire adult life was visit Arlington National Cemetery to honor our fallen soldiers. I'll be there in a couple weeks.

:usa2:
I'm curious to hear your reaction to visiting Arlington National.

That is the most awe inspiring place I've ever visited. 2nd was on the Maid of the Mist getting that close to powerful water at Niagra Falls. 3rd was witnessing my Miners beat BYU once.

I never really understood the point of visiting graves. If you believe in God and an afterlife, your loved one isn’t in that spot. If you don’t, it’s just where we left their bones. Remember them where they meant something to you.
Reminds me of F. Scott Fitzgeralds "The Great Gatsby".

"Let us learn to show our friendship for a man when he is alive and not after he is dead. After that my own rule is to let everything alone."

Gatsby Quote
