1. Texas: 72 (+10)
T2. Florida/Georgia: 63 (-8/+38)
4. California: 61 (-3)
T5. Alabama/Louisiana/Maryland: 20 (+7/-3/+14)
8. North Carolina: 14 (no change)
9. Pennsylvania: 13 (-11)
T10. Ohio/Virginia: 12 (-16/no change)

At risk of oversimplifying this discussion, seven of the 10 states that saw the greatest percentage increase in population over the last two decades also saw an increase in their production of top-100 college football recruits. An eighth state, North Carolina, saw no change.
rank | state | % increase in population | % increase in top-100 recruits
  1. Nevada: +52.58% | +700%
  2. Utah +42.84% | +100%
  3. Arizona +41.04% | +167%
  4. Texas +38.44% | +16%
  5. Idaho: +37.53% | Undefined (two top-100 recruits divided by zero)
  6. Florida: +33.84% | -11%
  7. Colorado: +33.09% | -71%
  8. North Carolina: +29.78% | No change
  9. Georgia: +29.05% | +152%
  10. Washington: +28.84% | +17%
1. Trevor Lawrence

CROWN THEIR ASS!

Per capita, Georgia is ahead of even Louisiana when it comes to producing talent.

Pretty much what I got out of this is Geoff Collins and the Yellow Jackets are comin

2023 OU taking who they want out of Georgia, Florida, and California.

I wouldn't say they are quite in that Florida, Texas, Cali group just based on overall numbers, but they definitely have been one of the best states for top talent. OSU (like other top programs, I'm sure) has seemed to focus on the state a lot more recently.

There are a slew of states that generally produce great talent (all states have potential for a 4 or 5 star here and there but you can depend on these states every year):

Alabama
California
Florida
Georgia
Louisiana
Ohio
North Carolina
Mississippi
Pennsylvania
South Carolina
Texas

Maryland, Michigan, and Virginia are borderline states.

Another Georgia Natty before the season starts?

I think Maryland is probably on there before Mississippi and maybe Pennsylvania. Maryland is the NJ(lite)

If the other two are like us, large numbers of transplants have made us waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too pussified so our percentage of good players is dropping like a rock. We weren't too bright back in the day but we were tougher. JMO.

This will be year 3 for him and with the transfer portal being near free agency, Geoff had better show something IMO.

They’re ripe for the picking. I don’t know about a bowl but I have to expect 5-6 wins this year, which is doable looking at the schedule. And the QB is an excellent gamer but had no protection last year. It all hinges on the O Line, what we had before was mostly undersized recruits from Johnson.

The recruiting has picked up and Collins seems to be selling his brand. It just takes time coming back from an undersized offense that nobody really wanted to play for.

Still light years away from challenging Clemson, but we aren’t far off the Mark for the rest, excluding maybe UNC/ND.

This is the year to make people take notice that we are on the rise, and if not there yet we still have a good immediate future.

IF Collins proves to be the guy, that is.
