Yes.
A fantastic, and depressingly apt answer.Private or public school? If it's private, yes, if it's public, no.
my hope is that this is just for show and each of the teachers got equal donated money from the hockey team...Degrading….I don’t think so. They aren’t being forced to it.
I see this more as indicative of the dire straights teachers are left in in the classroom. And this is after parents spend a whole bunch at the start of the year to stock a supply list.
In that case….it’s most telling in any degrading fashion for the schools and districts that keep pulling budget back. Your teachers are literally groveling for money for the classroom because you all suck.
it sucks that they can't just get the additional money from the school system...but I forget how classroom money works and whether that comes out of their own pockets...I remember hearing that before.Unless you can produce evidence of them being forced to do this not degrading
Depends on the zip code. Some teachers have to beg borrow and steal for classroom supplies. Other places teachers have pretty much anything they needit sucks that they can't just get the additional money from the school system...but I forget how classroom money works and whether that comes out of their own pockets...I remember hearing that before.
so...is this degrading if they fall into the "beg, borrow, and steal" zip code?Depends on the zip code. Some teachers have to beg borrow and steal for classroom supplies. Other places teachers have pretty much anything they need

I don't think its degrading in either sense. Unless someone can confirm these teachers were required to do this, it appears to be a fun activity that gives them some additional resourcesso...is this degrading if they fall into the "beg, borrow, and steal" zip code?
I agree...I hope they donated the same amount to each teacher in the endI don't think its degrading in either sense. Unless someone can confirm these teachers were required to do this, it appears to be a fun activity that gives them some additional resources
In FL (one of the worse ranked states for education perennially) the zip code does show a break out, but the more apt determinant is standardized testing scores.Depends on the zip code. Some teachers have to beg borrow and steal for classroom supplies. Other places teachers have pretty much anything they need
