It is Mid-October and there are over 10 teams still in serious contention for the Title

All the teams have their flaws this year. Oregon shit the bed against Georgia. Alabama lost in a crazy environment and gave up 52 in the process. Georgia allowed Missouri more points than Auburn and Florida did. I am still not sure about the Ohio State win against Notre Dame because the Irish are stinking it up. Every team the Buckeyes have played is at or under 0.500 except Toledo. I am not sure if Michigan is that good or Penn State is that bad. Michigan has played two 5 win teams, but they also played bottom of the barrel Hawaii and Colorado State. Tennessee has a lot of good wins and Clemson does too. UCLA has defeated some good teams, but they have some tests remaining. The season is gonna play out. Just doesn't seem as chalk as previous seasons. And I like that.

I'm with you. UGA played great in games 1-3, and then games 6 and 7. But were games 4 and 5 anomalous? tOSU has basically played suck ass teams, almost all at home, and then had a bye. How good are they - FYI, I think pretty darned good. And, now Bama loses to UTjr for the first time in 16 years. Suddenly the old "there are the top 3 and then the rest" narrative might not be so certain. Next 6 weeks are going to be awesome!

No one should be listing Oregon as a serious title contender.

If you're listing that a team is a serious title contender based on their schedule (and not based on their ability to win multiple games vs. top 4 opposition), you're doing it wrong.
Bama lost to a team that started unranked and hasn’t beat them in 16 years. Bama should have lost to Texas but for ref fuckery and Texas leaving pints off the board and missing a wide open tackle and TD.
Bama was a coont Jaír away from losing to Aggy.

And you’re laughing saying they are a qualitatively better team than OKST in the regards of contender.

You ain’t smart

Oklahoma State is still very much in the mix but they would have to win out. Best case scenario for them as well is TCU continues to win and they beat an unbeaten or one loss top 10 TCU team in Big12 title game.

Yes. I already stated that implicitly. Thanks for repeating my sentiments.

Syracuse is technically a contender, but they're going to get ass blasted by Clemson next week. I also don't think they're going to very well against Wake or FSU.

only reason why they got by NCSU is because the Pack's starting QB is out for the season and the new guy is fucking awful

I get that, a lot of teams on here don't see like they can win out but stranger things have happened. It still makes for great football to watch.

Quite a few thought that when the Hokies beat the Buckeyes in Columbus. We saw how the Buckeyes ended that season and CFP.

Link to OSU losing a game by 46 and then winning a championship?

Link to me saying that about Alabama?

It was written down like OKST and you only contested OKST. Neglect is the same as a vote in this situation.
So, you can clarify for us now that you have brought it up: Is Bama NOT on your list of contenders by the standard YOU brought up?

As of now, Bama is not a title contender.

Kansas State was probably eliminated because they lost to Tulane. Hard to imagine them getting in over any 1 loss team after that loss :(.

Yeah fuck all that. Tulane’s 6-1 and 1st in the AAC. Probably the best G5 team right now.

They outgained USM across the whole stat sheet, had an early 14-0 lead, then had a horrible 2nd half, and beat themselves.

The Hokies finished the regular season 6-6 and beat Ohio State at Ohio State's place. Oregon travels across the country and plays in Georgia's backyard. The Ducks got destroyed. If the Ducks win out and other teams fall, I could see them as a contender in the CFP. As far as a national title contender, if we are really looking at it that way and only that way, then just stop the season now and give the title to Georgia. Not necessarily my view, but the media feels that way. Or do we wait to the end of the CFP, wait to see who wins the title, and hell, then we can all say, "yup that team was the only national title contender". Shit my wife could do that. If we gonna wait for a team that is highly ranked to lose, and then say, "nope, you ain't a contender". That's not how predictions and projections work.

I won't lie, I hadn't realized that Tulane was on a roll. Yeah, if Kansas State can pick up a few wins, perhaps they should be on Big12 list. In my opinion, I think Oklahoma State, TCU, and even Texas is better but that is just my opinion. Maybe they were a miss on my part.
