It's always sunny on Friday morning

Thanks. I’m just sharing his second half season stats and saying I understand why the Lions are giving him a shot. I was huge on taking Willis (still am) all pre-draft and definitely not drinking his Kool-Aid.

i think he deserves an nfl roster spot. I think he’s a decent back up in this league. He’s capable of making plays but he’s a functioning idiot. While I personally think intelligence is overrated for a football player (I’d rather draft a guy with talent rather than intelligence) that’s NOT the case with a QB. Goff was able to “out-jock” other players at previous levels of competition (which is why he was effective) but you can’t get away with that at the NFL level. He was exposed in the SB. The patriots figured out that Mcvay was reading the defenses for him and giving him the reads in his headset each play. However, those headsets go dead at the 15 second mark and the pats just switched their defense at that point … every play! He couldn’t make one read on his own.

Is there a special provision for cutting comms earlier? Or could a team running hurry up have someone talking the QB right to the snap? If so, just go to a hurry up offense if your QB can't read a defense. Make sure to snap it before you hit the 15 second mark, or ideally right at the 15 second mark while they are shifting.

he also said the most NFL ready player might start the year on the PUP, which would seem to me like he'd be among the least ready players, but what do I know,

Obviously not much.

Doesn’t mean the WR’s are going to have a race to the field week 1.

We can ditch him next year and save like 21 million. This year is a big prove it or lose it year for him.
I don't know the Lions cap info but it seems like a helluva lot of dead cap money.

"Jared Goff signed a 4 year, $134,000,000 contract with the Los Angeles Rams, including a $25,000,000 signing bonus, $110,042,682 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $33,500,000. In 2022, Goff will earn a base salary of $10,650,000 and a roster bonus of $15,500,000, while carrying a cap hit of $31,150,000 and a dead cap value of $41,150,000."

There isn't, but it requires your QB to not be dumb as a box of rocks.

The Rams' offense was built around McVay holding Goff's hand for as long as possible.

It is but it’s just for one year. He had 3 years left on his deal when we got him.

tough to run that type of offense for the entire game… especially if you haven’t practiced it. Also, your guys better in shape for that or else they will be gassed!

I’m equally pumped up about me not coaching anymore.

I like hurry up offenses but it does take the right QB. It could be why so many teams are shit on the 2-minute offense

chip Kelly tried something similar in Philly and it was a disaster.

Kelly's problem was that they ran about 8 plays. The offense relies on speed and repetition, and once NFL defenses realized that this formation meant this play was coming and 3/4 of the playbook was scrapped, they shut it down.
