Jamaica. Your thoughts?

Was headed to Aruba, but they had some whack Covid policies at the time, so we switched our plans to Costa Rica.
I hear Costa Rica is big with HR guys from small paper companies. You need to tell us about a career change?

Costa Rica is the shit. Reminds me of that Cheech character in “From Dusk til Dawn”

Do tell. We did that in Belize and it was a blast.
I think he was making a reference to The Office, so I responded in kind. :yo:

Do you know what they call Santa Claus in Jamaica?

Santa Mon

I did Zip Lining in Costa Rica back in November. That was fine, it was the horse back riding that scared the living shit out of me.
What about the horse riding scared you? That's one of the things we are planning to do.

I thought it would be some slow peaceful stroll thru a field. Wrong.

They give you a helmet for a REASON. Keep in mind that you are on a mountain. We were trotting and galloping in terrain, through streams, up mountainsides, down mountainsides over mud and rocks. There was a dog that spooked my horse and nearly bucked me off. We had about 8 people with us and I was amazed that we didn't lose anyone and nobody got injured. My aunt even legit pissed her pants.

If that were in the U.S. you would have had to sign a waver to ride and there would have been signs saying that this was for experienced riders.

Thanks. My mom is coming with us and I saw maximum age restrictions for almost every excursion. This makes sense now, LOL

heard Turks and Caicos is expensive as fuck.

I think the Virgin Islands are too
Yeah, because it's worth it.

Keeps the riff raff out.

Is that a horse riding pic in your favorites?

I can't emphasize enough how shocked I was that nobody in our group fell off or got hurt. It was literally zigging and zagging up and down a mountain side at a trot or gallop most of the time.

And the only question they asked as we were mounting up is if each of us had ridden before. And those that said no, they just said, pull the reigns to the right to turn right, pull the left to go left and pull back to slow up.

That shit wouldn't fly in the U.S. It was fun, but I was to busy worrying about everyone else behind me in our group.

Anybody here been to Jamaica before. Thinking about possibly booking a trip there in the next several months and curious if anybody has been there before and your thoughts. Good and bad.
Pretty much everyone says stay on your resort and do not leave unless is a scheduled tour that is secure. So if you pretty much want to be locked down at a resort you’ll be fine.

Personally I’d look into the Dominican Republic or Tulum Mexico right now.

Belize and Barbados were the places we felt safest out in public away from the resorts.
