I am a student of NFL history and I thought this would be an interesting thread. just because Jim Brown played before I was born does not diminish his greatness. If you think that's creepy then I feel sorry for you.@GUNS, what's up with you digging up guys whose careers were over before you were born and making honorary GOAT threads for them? That's kinda... creepy, actually...
It's kinda odd and creepy that you were born in 1980 but have an attraction to the 50's & 60's. (i.e. you just did a tribute thread to Buddy Holly & co.)I am a student of NFL history and I thought this would be an interesting thread. just because Jim Brown played before I was born does not diminish his greatness. So just because I'm young means I can't appreciate Buddy Holly, Jim Brown, and others that contributed to music or sports? I also like old cars so is that also creepy to you? It's kinda odd and creepy that you were born in 1980 but have an attraction to the 50's & 60's. And note that I don't necessarily disagree with you about Jim Brown. I never saw him play, so I can't definitively say he's the GOAT. I'd have no problem carving his face on a RB Rushmore, but having never seen him play is a disqualifier for me to crown him undesputable GOAT.
Yeah, kinda... ...just brings up questions about what else is there? Gerontophilia? Necrophelia? So just because I'm young means I can't appreciate Buddy Holly, Jim Brown, and others that contributed to music or sports? I also like old cars so is that also creepy to you?

You are just a troll with big opinions and not much to back them up.You are a student of posting links and not reading them...that's about it
I always had questions about Emmitt... He ran behind one of the greatest offensive lines in NFL history and shared a field with one of the best quarterbacks, fullbacks and receivers in history. How much of his success was really due to his greatness and how much was a direct result of the talent around him? That question has always resonated with me and I have a difficult time placing him as #1 because of it.Emmitt Smith is the GOAT...most prolific RB ever.

Walter Payton/Barry Sanders are my rock solid #1 and my #1 - a tie at the top.

Wrong again Brenda. Those are both great picks, but Emmitt has more SB rings than both put together and has the most rushing yards in history of the game. IMO, that puts him at the top of the mountain. The mountain GOAT.
No Brenda, the case isn't closed.Emmitt Smith is the GOAT...most prolific RB ever.
