Jim Harbaugh gone to NFL

america fuck yeah GIF by Chicks on the Right
I'll take the redhead on the right please and thank you.

fwiw, NFL reporters were incredibly wrong about Harbaugh going to Michigan in 2015 and were bitter af about it once it was announced. They couldn't believe that a successful NFL coach would want to coach college football.
Exactly. We'll never know what actually went down. We know Minn didn't offer him but there were also reporters saying that Harbaugh also had a change of heart in the last day. Just like a few years ago when they guaranteed Harbaugh had signed with the Raiders. I know one thing, Michigan is in a better spot now with Harbaugh than going through a February coaching search.

I also expect something to be in his contract that limits his ability to do this in the future; I think it has to in order to protect recruiting. It needs to be structured so that if he does it again (say next year) we don't have to sit around and wait, it should be an instant removal and replacement.

He probably did this to get a better contract.

Brian Flores to the Vikings?
I dont' think this is going to help his contract, if anything Michigan is probably going to put limits on it for what he can and can't do with NFL jobs moving forward. From everything being said on the Michigan side, his new contract was competitive with ones like Ryan Day but wasn't the lunacy of Mel Tucker. I don't think he's going to get a Mel Tucker contract out of this; no one should except Nick Saban.

So
Harbaugh used this NFL thing to get a raise.
I doubt it. I think he's going to get the same contract Michigan offered him before, and it's going to be less than Mel Tucker's. I'm thinking somewhere in the ballpark of like 8.5 million.

"The Vikings did not make an offer to Harbaugh before he left Minnesota, something he was expecting when he left Ann Arbor, multiple sources told The Athletic. The situation between Harbaugh and the Vikings seemed to take a turn mid-afternoon but it wasn't clear what caused it, sources told The Athletic's Bruce Feldman."

Harbaugh has a way of pissing folks off. His exit from the Niners was because of a rift with the owner.

Because that dude is weird as fuck and the more he talked to them the less they liked him

When asked how he was planning to manage the roster with the coaching turnover Harbaugh answered "sleepovers with the players" The Vikings FO then decided to look elsewhere

That the Vikings even interviewed him shows how clueless that organization is.

That was apparently one of the known issues with Minn, a minority owner was someone he had a riff with at the 49ers. So it was his friend, their new GM, trying to convince them Harbaugh was the guy.

The new Vikings GM is Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.

Have some self respect Ohio State, this used to be a rivalry.

One win in eight years and you think UofM owns the rivalry. Well there's no doubt you're delusional.

And I gotta say I'm glad JH didn't get the Vikings. Ohio State's gonna get some payback on 11/26. But I wouldn't rule out JH trying to cancel the game like he did in 2020.

Must suck to know the future at OSU is bleak with Ryan Day at the helm. Maybe once OSU gets a real coach this will be a rivalry again.
