Jim Harbaugh gone to NFL

Byes will be a feature not a bug. The 4 top ranked conference champs get byes. Looking at this year, Bama is rewarded, UGA penalized in the SEC. CCs now mean something. Plus can’t reward those who don’t play in a CC game while the other teams are playing. Those who play and win get the byes. Those who lose will get home field advantage in first round.
So which conference isn't getting the bye? That's the issue with offering byes -- it'd give multiple teams an enormous advantage and the rankings are nothing more than opinion.

That’s great. I acknowledge OSU’s defense is soft. It’s just that Michigan’s was softer.

you see, 121 is more than 85. A lot more.
You don't have to acknowledge anything. The whole world got to see it. You see, when it is the 4th quarter, you KNOW Michigan is running the ball every play and they run 7 times in row for TD to end the game -- it put an exclamation point behind the soft for OSU's defense.

As I said though -- it is a shame. All that talent on offense and none on defense. OSU had ONE player make all-B1G defense. ONE. And it was 2nd team. Soft. I feel bad for Olave and Wilson. Put a national championship offense together with a soft defense.

Yeah, it’s a shame alright. Really sad.

Unlike all the Michigan fans who got all fired up and excited over a one-off game when their team really had an even softer defense than OSU without a championship-caliber offense. That wasn’t sad, or a shame. It was hysterical.

Can‘t wait to see that show again in another dozen years or so.

Top 4 per the committee. They should have the advantage … don’t want to be CC that doesn’t get the bye, win more games, go undefeated, score more points, join the SEC (I kid). Or, for Norte Dame, join a fucking conference. This was their AD’s idea by the way.

A one off game? Was it one off when Oregon ran for 300? Or when Utah ran for 250 and put up 42?

Michigan running over OSU was the best thing to happen to them. Georgia was much more physical than UM -- they probably would have run for 500 on OSU.

I haven't heard any OSU defensive players announcing they are going to the NFL draft -- so I look forward to much of the same next year. Who knows -- maybe OSU will get another guy on the All-B1G defensive team, maybe even on the first team this time.

Tyreke Smith has announced.

This thread title sucks

We hear this every single year. Just fucking STOP.

I feel like this gets perpetuated by beat writers that are still spurned by him choosing Michigan over NFL teams in 2014 and they looked like tards in the process.

No, the one-off rivalry game, genius.

121 > 85

Didn't Harbaugh lose salary with his renegotiated contract last year ???
This is just a ploy get get that back.

Smart move really.

Shit tons.

He gave away all of his bonus monies this year though. 3M. To coworkers in the athletic department who also took pay cuts.

He’s playing the long game for piles of cash if this is his smoke.

A month and half ago I’d have said he’d be candidate #1 for the Bears gig. So who knows?

Soft is when you know a team is going to run the ball and you still get blown off the line of scrimmage. Like Michigan did to OSU. Like Oregon did to OSU. Hell, like Utah did to OSU.

It is a shame OSU wasted a national championship type of offense with such a piss poor defense.

don't you worry your precious little maize and blue head, they'll have plenty of firepower on offense for years to come.

As long as their defense is as soft as it was this past year -- i'm not that worried about their offense. They had 3 1st round picks at WR this year to go along with a freshman all-american RB -- as long as they get blown off the ball on defense -- I'm fine with OSU. :)

They won't and deep down you and all your Michigan brethren know it.

It's why you guys are acting extra asshole like while you can

Sure thing, squeaky

The Raiders in Vegas would be hard to pass up.

If he ends up getting fired he can always go back to college and top jobs are always opening and the money has gotten insane. I don't see a downside to leaving right now.
Harbaugh's NFL coaching career started with the Raiders. Al Davis practically begged him to stay rather than take the San Diego job because he wanted to groom him to be their head coach.

Like others have already posted, its' not about money. I could see Harbaugh spinning it as he has the UM program back on the right track so mission accomplished.

Haha
The butthurtedness of Tosu fans is priceless. Lose one game in a decade and act like you are appalled that UM fans are crowing. Act like you have been there before
