Jimbo to WVU?

I don't want him going anywhere. With Day as coach, UM has a chance to beat them any year, as we will outcoach him. We will never be able to recruit like OSU, so being able to out coach them helps level the playing field.

Don't worry. I have sunglasses on. They will never know it is me

Will be interesting to see if WV sticks with Brown. Could Jimbo head back home? When asked if he would ever consider returning to coach the Mountaineers, Fisher said the following: “You don’t ever say never in this business. Home is home. I love West Virginia and it’s very near and dear to my heart. I love them and have always rooted for them my whole life. You never say never in this business where it takes you. I’m happy where I’m at and I love where I’m at, but home is home.”

Well, Jimbo is no longer "where he is at" and is walking away with $75 mil
Neal wins atleast one more these next two weeks (he should win both) then he’s safe. He’s owed Over 13 million if He’s fired before Jan 1 of 25. No chance Gee let’s Wren can him if he gets to a Winning record.

I think there is some better candidates WVU could go after instead of Jimbo. However he is from Clarksburg which isnt far from Motown and that gives the impression he wouldn’t up and leave if something better came up. (Which I don’t believe)

Yes, it was a weaker year, but they destroyed their competition minus the CG. 2019 LSU and 2020 Bama had close games, it just so happened to not be in the NCG. Why does FSU get penalized for playing a close game, but not the others? Yes, I would say 2019 LSU is better, as is 2020 Bama because of resume. And yeah, 2019 Clemson a good comparison, and OSU lost to them, which is why I don't get that comparison for bringing them up.
FSU gets penalized because 2019 LSU, 2020 Bama, and likely several other CFP teams would have comfortably beaten than Auburn team. 2019 Clemson was a solid team that beat OSU in a highly controversial game where they needed several officiating decisions to go their way. Fully healthy 2019 OSU probably beats 2013 FSU by 2+ TDs. I didn't bring OSU up in this, Day was brought up by someone else for some reason.

Blah blah blah your coach is really no better just plays more subpar competition.
Jimbo lost at home to App State and got boatraced by a bad Miami team, Day's really much better than Jimbo.

I seem to recall many tosu fans on here about a year ago saying that very thing. Plus, I work with several alums and they feel pretty strongly that could happen
Well fans and alums do always have the ultimate say in things like this.

Dude has made the playoffs in every year he's been a head coach but one, and he has OSU 10-0 and #1 in the nation. He's not getting fired.

hear me out...

Jimbo to Morgantown BUT....he has to PAY the school to coach there!
Seeing how he's flush with cash and all.

That way they can suck but make more money from sucking more.

But you're not going to penalize 2019 LSU for beating an 8-5 Texas team by a TD, or an Auburn team by 3 that finished 9-4? That doesn't make much sense to me. Off the top of my head, there hasn't been one national champion that hasn't had a close game.

I do think overall 2019 OSU was better than 2019 Clemson but they lost. I can't imagine that FSU team losing by 2+ TD's to anyone, let alone that 2019 OSU team.

I mean, that was FSU's only real game outside of Clemson (who they did beat soundly, to be fair). When the lights were brightest, LSU and Bama shined while FSU needed a buzzer beater. I'd also put 2019 Clemson and 2020 OSU well above that Auburn team. I also can't get out of my head what happened the following year. FSU didn't lose much high end talent to the 2014 draft (only 4 guys taken in the first 3 rounds), and got their asses handed to them by Oregon while not looking that great during the regular season. That's driving a lot of my thoughts about just how good that 2013 FSU team really was, and just how good of a HC Jimbo actually is overall, which is what this thread is about.

Blah blah Harbaugh owns Day.

FSU lost two of their top receivers (Benjamin and Shaw), not to mention Freeman. Wasn't a huge drop off from Freeman to Cook (similar YPC, albeit fewer TDs), but Karlos Williams saw his YPC go from 8.0 to 4.6. Winston regressed big time in 2014 and the defense wasn't nearly as dominant, going from 12.1 PPG to 25.6 and from 4.1 YPP to 5.5

I understand Benjamin was a big loss but Greene was his WR1 in 2013 and he came back in 2014. He also had O'Leary who was one of his top pass catchers in 2013, along with Travis Rudolph who was a very good college WR. If they had a mass exodus to the draft it'd be one thing but they brought back a shit ton.

I mean, it’s probably an upgrade but then..

1. RichRod is a better fit for the Big12 and

2. Why wouldn’t Michigan State go after him?
We'd really find out if Jimbo can coach if he went to Sparty. I doubt very seriously that he could recruit to the same level he did at FSU and A&M.
Then again, he ain't playing against the SEC eight times a year. So there's that

So should I diminish what OSU did in 2014 because they looked like shit in 2015 for the entire year, outside the last two games? That's a silly argument to make IMO. They were elite on both sides of the ball, and outscored their opposition by almost 550, and had the best scoring offense ever at that point.
