Movie Justice League (2017)

It was ok.
I'm a big fan of 300 and Dawn of the Dead.
Lots of frenetic energy and as the viewer, we immediately understood the emotional stakes at play in those movies.

Marvel humanizes their heroes.
It appears that DC wants them to be gods and Whedon didn't understand the dynamic there.

So, what does Snyder do?

A lot of scenes appear to have new music, mostly classical or choir singing, introduced into them in an effort to get us emotionally attached to these gods. He wants us to invest in these characters so that we can get that payout later. However, Marvel does this over a string of movies and Justice League tries to do it all in one. I'm wondering if they should have shot more scenes and released this as a Netflix/Amazon series. That would probably hurt the financial bottom line, but would most likely help the storytelling.

I might be in the minority here, but my favorite DC show/movie to watch/follow is Teen Titans.
Also amusing to note several Game of Thrones actors in the DC universe.

Just so everyone is aware and not getting hopes up, there is no intention of Snyder building off of this into a sequel.

If it isn’t intended for a sequel then the movie should receive a 0/10. The last hour and a half was setting up either a Justice League sequel or 5 or so movies/shows whether they be stand alones or combinations.

So I read that he wasn't planning on doing a sequel, but I did notice that a Justice League 2 was in the works with Snyder as a writer. I don't remember if a director was listed.

I'm about halfway in and this is on point so far. This version does a far better job of introducing Flash and Cyborg. Plus the extended battle scene when Darkseid first invaded was great.

It's alot to take in and I'm not sure if I finish it all tonight but so far it's definitely a superior version to the original (which I enjoyed).

Yeah. This isn't as good as Infinity War but the Snyder Cut deserved a theatrical release.

WW is the best movie in the DCEU but this is at least on par with Civil War. I'm looking forward to The Batman but it would be nice to see a sequel

It's 4 hours so there is no way this could have gotten a theatrical release. You would have had to cut it in half and release it as two movies.

This is a passion project that got away from Synder and created a mess and WB botched the clean up.

I thought it was good. I thought the 4:3 was stupid. I thought there was some overly dramatic parts where slow-motion took away from what was going on. But I thought the character development was dramatically improved and I like what they did with Cyborg and the Flash. The ending was unnecessary and entirely confusing for just a casual fan (I still don't fully understand it). They could have ended well before that. I didn't think it was too long and I liked how they segmented it into parts. Overall I think it was a good superhero movie with one of the better portrayals of batman; far less of a superhero and more of a super rich guy with lots of technology.
