Justice League was the 5th film of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), following Wonder Woman and preceding Aquaman. The film was completed by director Joss Whedon after Warner Bros. studio forced original director Zack Snyder off the project because of the mediocre critical reaction and box office underperformances of Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Whedon Cut was released in theaters on Friday, November 17, 2017 and also fared poorly with critics and underperformed in the box office.

A fan campaign eventually succeeded in getting Warner Bros. to agree to the release of the Snyder Cut, which is upcoming and will be released via HBO Max. More promos of the Snyder Cut are expected later today at DC Fandome. But while we await that, let's recap the past-released promos. First, the SDCC 2016 footage:

Gal Gadot with a full on American accent just sounds like Scarlett Johansson.

Justice League was the most true to its comic of any of the modern comic movies. Totally get it, but the MCU sold it’s soul

I can tell you're on the fence.

No fence to sit on. DC are better comics in terms of heroes and villains but are more dark. Marvel was able to take liberties with their character and make them more commercial. But in the blockbuster bomb of Suicide Squad they got a character more popular in pop culture than anything Marvel has had since the MCU was created. But Marvel is smart and full of thinkers, DC is dumb and full of the here and now and not an actual universe.

While I too thought Suicide Squad was a shitty movie, it still made almost 3/4 of a Billion at the box office.

I thought it tanked? Either way, Harley Quinn became more popular than every MCU character except Blank Panther but that kind of isn’t fair. I just think DC is better but is incompetent and Marvel has shined and written very very sound scripts and a precise timeline to make their characters commercial. How many movies into the MCU was Captain America Civil War? That was the 2nd DCEU with BvS. No back story but introduces 2 of 3 main characters since Batfleck was new and Wonder Woman was new. It just makes no sense. Civil War had established characters to the audience and got big pops for Spider-Man and Ant Man making cameos. Fans were still taking in that Ben Affleck was Batman, Wonder Woman showed up and then Superman died. Terrible story telling.

most casual fans couldn't give a fuck about Harley Quinn. But they could name every Avenger.

Batman vs Superman is where they lost me. Sure, Civil War had Avengers fighting each other, but the worst that happened was a minor character crashing and being temporarily paralyzed.

You kind of proved my point, Avengers was the highest grossing movie of all time and DC flopped but every non comic book fan knows Harley Quinn.

My point was, DC should’ve been at that stage of movies before they did a Batman vs Superman. WW, AM and Flash should’ve all had movies before any time of Superman vs Batman conflict that got resolved into forming the Justice League in the DCEU.

be careful what you wish for... Aquaman was complete garbage.

Underrated film. It was entertaining and took too much crap because it was trying to go head to head with a MCU saga that was unprecedented.

That being said I can't wait for the Snyder cut.
