And if his complaining means that the PGA reaches out to their venues and says they better not see that type of gouging again, then it worked. Or if that complaining made him the new crowd favorite, that cheering from the gallery while opponents might have heard a bit more jeering, could have helped.

I agree that his comments definitely made him a fan favorite going in, which may have changed something...but I think relying on fans jeering other players to win a championship is kind of dumb. Fans shouldn't have ANY affect on a golf tournament.
