Business decison?

Of course. Why risk bigger injury on a clearly failed season? Is this supposed to be controversial?

surprised Worthy is still playing.. need to close him down for the season then bubble wrap his ass in the spring and summer.. Wait maybe that's the problem?

Sark saying theres going to be a massive roster turnover. Thats not good for him, the way things are going he might not make it past 3 years.

They have to give him 3 years. If they don’t they will have a really hard time finding anyone that wants the job.

I’m not a Sark defender but the stuff coming out just screams that Texas was soft and had a locker room culture issue.

You can’t bow down to that crap and you can’t make an omelet without cracking some eggs.

I think he is banking on Texas being patient with him, which isn't something I'd count on

very likely they have a losing season next year if they have that huge roster turnover. And this year its a uphill battle for them to get to 6-6 at this point. Year 3 he would have to crank out at least 8 or 9 wins to have hope of not being canned.

Let's be honest about both OU and Texas. Both coaching staffs need to just GTFO of this season and then figure out how to make things right. OU should have at least 2-3 losses instead of just 1 and Sooners fans know it. Something's wrong at both schools. Those coaches get paid MILLIONS of dollars to NOT have these kinds of seasons where every game is a heaving crap shoot. Sark looks worse than Riley, not doubt about that, but OU was ranked preseason #2 and had the Heisman Trophy favorite and has now deteriorated into an offense that scored 14 points against Baylor. Baylor.......not Georgia. And neither Texas nor Oklahoma can play defense worth a damn. Oklahoma could still catch fire but who are we kidding? OU's lucky streak has run out.....UT's bad luck streak is still going strong......and we are heading to the SEC soon. Hmmmm.

He's going to get his time, but he's going to have to make some changes on the Def side regarding his staff. If he's still all in with PK, he better let PK choose his own assistants this time. Current ones were the ones Muschamp asked for.

Yeah I can't see how they do that well next season with that much turnover. However he had the team clicking in the first halfs during this shit streak outside of KU. I gotta call it what it is, players are def front runners. Also, for him to have the impact he looks to be wanting through the Portal.. he better get the money guys aligned and tamper their asses off with players currently in other programs. He's not going to get it done by majorly poaching players from the southland conference.

Yea the portal plan is a risky one. Especially with how Texas has done this year, they aren't exactly going to have that "come here and win" appeal.

It might work if he hits with a bunch of high level transfers, but if its settling for a bunch of players from lower level schools, just to fill roster sports, not exactly a big money strategy.

He’s still young enough to earn some of that NIL moneys so he prob wants to produce as much as he can at this point and make himself as much as he can heading into next year.
Kids got a bright future IMO.

They’ve got playing time and exposure to sell. A lot of these transfer guys are just trying to get NFL eyeballs on them.

@Illustrious Potentate and I tried to tell you guys after your transfer QB’s ran out there was going to be trouble. Riley has zero track record developing QB’s and literally hasn’t at OU unless you count Rattler and that hasn’t panned out.

Mayfield and Murray covered a lot of warts but neither of those guys would have made it through an SEC schedule without getting hurt. Just ask Tua, Matt Corral and now Bo Nix.

Strong tried to crack eggs and it didn't work. Herman tried to tickle the locker room with a sledge hammer and that didn't work.

But Jexas isn't putting kids in the NFL.

Oh and it's still a few years until they are in the SEC. Looking at the lack of recruiting and impending move to a tougher conference...:dhd:
