Finally took the time to look this up. The 6 iron has the typical loft of a year 2000 4 iron.

my Ping G5 (2006) 6 iron had a loft of 30.5°
my TM RSI2 (2014) 6 Iron has a loft of 26.5°, which is between the 4 and 5 irons of my Ping set.

oddly enough, I hit pretty much the same distance with it maybe a little further.
