GAME Kiffin in Knoxville

Maybe I missed this news, but I heard the story on the radio this morning. Apparently Joe Burrow was going to go to Tennessee with Schianno.

Probably not the right thread, but thought it was interesting.

We have missed out on a lot of QBs. Apparently Pruitt ran off Kevin Lawrence. Deshaun Watson was also planning on coming to Tennessee at one point and once again the coaches turned him down.

Here is the thing, on paper, we have been getting great QBs. Guarantano for example was a top 3-5 recruit at QB the year we got him. They just haven't panned out on the field with the exceptions of Josh Dobbs and I will say Hendon Hooker now. Hooker is the best QB that I have seen since Dobbs.

I heard some funny fan comments about these QBs. Even if we had gotten these ELITE QBs, we probably would have found a way to screw them up and they would have transferred elsewhere. :pound:

I do really like Heupel and the team right now. I am not even upset at Milton even though running out of bounce was a bonehead play.

I think a lot of the fan rage on Saturday was pint up anger/frustration built-up over the last 15 years and this idea that things are general rigged against Tennessee right now to favor schools like Alabama. (I don't think Tennessee is alone in that criteria).

The one thing that has resulted out of this incident is further scrutiny on SEC referees. (Sad thing is that the SEC had great refs pre-COVID 19. It seems like it has gotten really bad the last 2-3 years).

What exactly is rigged against Tennessee? Face it, your problems are like most other universities (including mine) and originate at the AD's office and choices made within. Your problems, like ours, predates Saban and will be there long after Saban retires unless your university decides to fix them and has the leadership and patience to do so.

No...who brings a whole bottle of mustard? lol

That one is obviously a concession stand worker. Think about the guy carrying around the hot dogs. Also, they actually have a valid reason to be upset when the team losses, the attendance drops and they lose $$$$.

If you really think about it, a team doing well actually impacts the local economy favorable. For example, I went to a sports apparel store and the owner was telling me that Tennessee's struggles have impacted his bottom line. (This was several years ago as well).

First off, scheduling. Many years they have had Florida, Georgia, and Alabama in 3 straight weeks or 3 out of 4 weeks. I do think the SEC has been working better with Tennessee the last 3-4 years on that.

The refs favoring certain SEC teams that bring the league money hasn't helped as well.

Cracked me up that oneof the things thrown was a hot dog without the bun.

Look at those 2 fans, who still has a whole hot dog with 54 seconds left in the game?

No one has a tougher SEC schedule than Auburn and that’s every single year. Cry me a River.

Again, I bet it was concession workers doing it.

And that has stopped the Vols from hiring good coaches, recruiting and preforming at a high level every snap in what way exactly? Until you are controlling the things you can, every other excuse is hollow and quite frankly sad.

I agree. But who is still working concession with seconds left in the game?

There was near 2 minutes left when Tennessee got the ball. They were probably bleacher vendors that walk the aisles, still had some product left, and were watching that final possession in hopes of a win.

Call me when you have Alabama, Georgia, and LSU back to back to back on your schedule. On paper, you have tougher teams on your schedule but you don't have them all at once in a row. Auburn usually get most of them in November versus September/October time frame which is a HUGE difference. Your tough opponents are usually spread out. For example you had Georgia in October but won't have Alabama until your last game.

True, Tennessee has some easy teams like UK and Vandy but they have traditionally not been on the schedule until November after our team has had its confidence and chances at anything positive dashed.
