Kirby Smart seriously needs to be fired

You need to go full LSU. They basically told Coach O you better get a real OC or your ass is out of here. He won a NC, than went back to being Coach O
Monken was seen as a big hire, but IDK. We’re finally having a game where we are moving the ball through the air, but have 6 rushing yards through 3 quarters, and of course Kirby’s defense is the one that hasn’t been able to stop Mike Leach.

ugly win for GA... that defense isn't want it was supposed to be

A lot of injuries, but I'm definitely disappointed with the depth we're supposed to have there. Played better in the second half at least.

But, only thing I care about is getting a pass game going, and that happened tonight. Any preseason goals are out the window, and there's no rivalry games left, so I don't care about wins or losses, just get the passing game figured out and go from there is all I care about from here on out.

Sure would have been nice to see what might have happened in the Florida game with JT Daniels at QB. Haven't had a QB look that good against a P5 team since Aaron Murray.

that three-year time frame between 2017 and 2019 where @Illustrious Potentate was somewhat satisfied with the coaching of his favorite team was a weird period

glad to see that things are back to normal

2017 came out of nowhere, nobody expected that.

I started groaning about the offense last year, but when you let the highest rated recruit in program history leave, and then have a 5 star transfer in just to sit on the bench while your season is going down the drain is too much for me to let slide.

I took a lot of pride in being undefeated against Todd Grantham, and that’s forever gone. We might have lost anyways, but I really don’t like losing without giving the team their best shot to win

I mean they were ranked 15th in the preseason.

I'd like to put this nonsensical "have a 5 star transfer in just to sit on the bench while your season is going down the drain" narrative to rest. I've posted a number of times saying this is pure bullshit. So, let's go to JTD's dad for the final proof, and maybe you can just drop it, and I just hope it's not too much for you, so you can let it slide - SMH:

From one source:

JT’s dad:

“I was out here in August and saw JT in a scrimmage, and you could tell he wasn’t 100 percent,” Steve Daniels said, referring to the Aug. 29 closed scrimmage that Smart allowed parents to attend.

“You could see it in JT’s throws, he wasn’t able to get the same velocity on some of his passes, and that’s one of the things that separates him, is his accuracy.”

“As parents, Ali and I feel blessed to be at a place like Georgia with a coach like Kirby, who put our son’s health first and foremost,” Steve Daniels said. “Kirby didn’t rush him or put him out there too soon, and that’s why you come to a place like this, for this kind of support.

From 247:

Daniels' father, who noted the difference between JT at the scrimmage in late August and on Saturday, feels the timing was just right on when Daniels returned to the field.

"I thought they handled it perfectly," Steve Daniels said. "He's coming off an injury, obviously. This is the SEC and you are paid to win games. Kirby is going to do whatever he thinks is the best thing and the staff is going to do the best thing to win games. So whether JT was medically cleared or not, that is just step one. It is who is going to give you the best chance to win. And Kirby has been coaching for an awfully long time. So has Coach Monken and these guys."

Steve Daniels noted that he has not spoken to Smart since dropping his son off at Georgia in June, instead getting updates from Georgia director of sports medicine Ron Courson on JT's knee.

"That is how it should be," he said. "Kirby has a team to run and plenty of things to do without me bugging him. I think Courson is the best in the business and a big reason we came here is that we felt the Georgia staff, when it came to fixing knees and getting people back on the field, their track record is pretty damn good. So that gave him just one more reason to come."

JT's father paints a picture of the Daniels family trusting a process and taking advantage of what the Georgia program had to offer.

"You're in an elite program with elite everything," Steve Daniels said. "You come from across the country and you get in the back of the line and you earn your reps and you earn everything that you get here. And that's exactly the place that anyone that really wants to get to the next level should be at. You get someone that's going to take care of you physically health-wise, gonna make you earn your way on the field and make you earn every rep you get. That's how you become great."

The debut by Daniels, which was given the highest grade among quarterbacks in Week 12 by Pro Football Focus, was good enough to earn SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors.

"For his first game back, he threw the ball well," Steve Daniels said. "I was really happy to see how he moved. He looked pretty quick to me on his rollouts and moving around, especially after that first possession. That first possession was knocking the cobwebs off. After that, he was able to get back in the groove. His accuracy was pretty darn good. I think he would tell you himself he would give himself a grade in the B range. There is plenty of room to get better with timing. He feels great, healthy. Feels like a step in the right direction. We had dinner with him last night, but we had to cut it short. He had film and wanted to begin digging into the South Carolina game."

The Dawgs opened as 19.5-point road favorites against the Gamecocks, a matchup that should give Daniels another opportunity to showcase his talent.

"I think physically, he's just going to keep getting better and better," Steve Daniels said. "The reason he was so excited about playing in this system is that it gives the quarterback a lot of leeway and the ability to make sure we're doing something smart with every play."

Where was JT Daniels? The question should haunt Georgia

Sums up my feelings perfectly, except the article doesn't go so far as to say Kirby should be fired, but I'm of the opinion if the coach is willing to throw away a season because of his decisions at QB, he can't be trusted to lead a team. He'd rather be safe than win.
The article is bullshit, as is your take ... as he and his dad have now stated, he was cleared but wasn't totally ready to play. I've seen any number of posts on a number of forums from people in the position to know ... he wasn't physically ready to play against Bama, Ky, or UF. Hell, he was limping on several occasions this weekend, and he didn't try to scramble a single time. He's still not up the mobility he had at USC. You are basing the desire to fire a top 5 coach on facts that are simply wrong. The sooner you admit that your facts are wrong, and that you let your emotions get the best of you, the sooner you can get back to pulling for UGA.

The player isn't going to openly call out his coaching staff, and the dad isn't going to say anything that puts his kid's team in a bad light. Why the fuck was he even warming up on the sideline against Florida when Bennett got hurt if he wasn't ready to play? Kirby forfeited the season.

Kirby always takes the safe route, which is why Justin Fields is at Ohio State and why we got our asses kicked by the only two good teams we've played this season. I'd be less aggravated had JT came in and struggled, but in typical UGA fashion, it's too little, too late. This is a championship level roster with the talent in place, but the fact that we were ever in a position to have a walk on starting at QB is all on Kirby. And let's just say Daniels wasn't ready to play(even though he's been cleared since week 2 and was scrimmaging with the team in preseason), from everything I've heard, Carson Beck was impressing everyone at practice, and everyone knows the kid has an arm, why not see what he can do, especially since this season doesn't even count towards eligibility? Last time we tried out a true freshman, it worked pretty well for us.

I'm a diehard fan, but I'm sick and tired of always falling short. I've had enough of not having a difference maker at QB. I've had enough of making the same mistakes over and over again. Enough is enough.

If we go 0-12 next year, I'll be watching every game, and bitching on here about every one of them.

JT Daniels is starting against Miss State this weekend. This tells me he’s been ready to play ever since he was cleared to play. Kirby was fine throwing the season away with a walk on and a guy who’s switching positions. Get him and his antiquated offense that doesn’t understand the value of a good QB out of here before Brock Vandagriff decommits

Wish I was a Geaorgia fan. First world problems.

I absolutely knew that was going to be your response. LOL. So, here is what we have:

- Coach Smart has said directly, and indirectly, that he wasn't physically ready to play until this Saturday.
- His parents have said he wasn't ready to play, and they are very pleased with how CKS handled this.
- Every staff member of both Rivals and 247 have said he wasn't playing because of his knee wasn't ready.
- I am telling you that someone really close to the program informed me that he was not game ready, which caused accuracy issues; his knee was still not 100%, but that he kept working until his accuracy returned and he was more mobile; only once that happened would Monken - not CKS - start him, and that was the week after the UF game. You can choose to believe me or not.
- In the first game he played, he didn't scramble, and was seen at times limping, and was tended to on the sideline twice during the game.
- In order for you to be correct, Monken and CKS would have to have wanted to start a clearly less qualified QB with the knowledge you would likely get beat, all because he wants to take the safer route. I wish you could see just how stupid that statement is that a top 5 coach would basically sacrifice his season for no apparent reason.
- You know bring up Beck who is a true freshman who hasn't been able to move past Mathis and SBIV; you want him to come in for what reason? You don't have one other than you are emotional and frustrated.

I get being frustrated. I am too. But I also can control my emotions and listen to the facts. You are so into your misery and the narrative you've spun you won't listen to facts from the HC, staff at all the sites that cover UGA football, the parents of the QB, and a really good source to the program. Do yourself a favor and take a deep breath and realize you just might be wrong. I mean you are wrong, based on facts, but just stop and think that through. Just because you are sick and tired of falling short doesn't change he facts.

Finally, you want to be mad at someone, be mad at Monken. He's in control of the O. He decides who plays QB each week. You are so emotional, you are pissed off at the wrong person. I don't know what Kirby did to you, but he worked a number on you.

Outside point of view. I think Kirby Smart is a perfect fit for Georgia, and in 20 years, he will have a resume like Tom Osborne had at Nebraska. For Dr. Tom's first decade, he was good every year but had to deal with Barry Switzer's Oklahoma. Then, when Barry left, Nebraska became the big dog in the Big 8 and ran that show for a while! So, I'd think twice before tarring and feathering Mr. Smart just yet.

1. I don't believe a damn word Kirbys says
2. His parents aren;t gonna throw their son's coaches under the bus and cause tension
3. The article I posted earlier was from 247
4. He warmed up in the Florida game alongside Mathis when Bennett got hurt. The surgery was all the way back in January, was one week really gonna make that big of a difference, and cleared to play means cleared to play.
5. He didn't need to scramble because he was dropping dimes, and after the first series, he was moving fine in the pocket
6. Monken was hired by Kirby
7. We've already covered Kirby being way too conservative and safe with his decisions
8. I don't trust Kirby to make the right decision with the QB depth chart, I don't think Beck could have done worse than Bennett or Mathis, but "Stetson knows the offense more and Mathis is a feel good story". That's why Justin Fields is at OSU and the season was over before JT Daniels got to play. There was literally nothing to lose by playing Beck.

Top 5 coaches don't shit the bed 3 times in 4 years against Bama, and they damn don't lose to a team that has Todd Grantham on the coaching staff under any circumstance.

LOL. I should just stop at no. 1 ... I don't know where Smart touched you, but you should see a therapist about that and work through it. Sheesh.

Since you ignore the facts, I'll just say this ... if you say, "he didn't need to scramble because he was dropping dimes," you know nothing about football and what it takes to play, or the intuitive nature in which a QB will move when facing pressure. And, your conclusions about Beck and others are laughable ... you've never been to a practice, you have no idea what is actually going on, and you don't understand how prepping QBs works. Just admit it ... you hate Kirby and nothing he will ever do will satisfy you. You are one of those whiny fans I can't stand and wish didn't call himself a fan of the team I follow.

As for coaches not shitting the bed against Bama, you have to be fucking kidding me. I mean they have graphics on TV about the 23 straight times that his assistants have lost to him. He's run more coaches out of football than any coach ever. I'm done with your nonsense.

All sunshine and rainbows, don’t criticize the coach or anything, right?

Daniels was moving fine in the pocket, and I’m just going by what others close to the situation have said about Beck. Literally had nothing to lose by playing him if Daniels truly wasn’t healthy enough to play(he was btw). Beck clearly has more arm talent than either Bennett or Mathis, so maybe some of those open receivers have a catchable ball thrown their way. I mean, we had like 7 ints in a 2.5 game stretch, wasn’t like we had to worry about Beck coming in throwing picks.

I can be satisfied with Kirby, but it’s gonna take a natty and not bowing leads against Bama and never losing to Todd Grantham again.

0-23, 3 of those are by Kirby. Kirby had the lead at halftime all 3 games. That’s shitting the bed. Roster talent wise, we’re on Bama’s level, but we got our asses kicked this year. That’s all coaching

Yes... Please free Kirby. I miss him very much & I'm sure Saban would send Golding packing. I can also go back to hating a Kirby-Less UGA!!!
