M. Night Shyamalan's next film, Knock at the Cabin, will be released on Friday, February 3, 2023, and is based on the 2019 novel The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay. Trailer:

I went to a test screening for this a week ago. Was actually the first test screening for this movie they said. I signed a NDA so I can't say anything about it but it was cool going to a test screening. M. Night sat a row in front of us. He snuck in when the movie started and quickly got up and left right when the credits hit.

Interested to see the final cut of the movie though mainly to see how it is different than the first cut test screening version that I saw.

When I went to U of Miami in the early ‘90s, the on campus theater got quite a few test screenings of tv shows and movies. I saw Ace Ventura and a few pilot tv shows that never went anywhere.

Anyone seen this?

What'd you think?

Is it out now? Alright I can finally give my opinion based on the early version I saw.

I didn't think it was good. Nothing really suspenseful about any of it. In the early version I saw that really bugged me was when the tsunami hit on the beach it was a YouTube video or something uploaded that was being used in the report. Made no sense to me because whoever shot that would uabe died and never been able to upload or send the video.

I wrote that they should change that to some sort of social media live stream. Not sure if they took my advice or not but that's the one reason I want to watch again just to see.

I did. It was good, but the premise is a bit flawed. Worth a watch

the premise... pick one of the 3 of you to die or billions around the world die.

I'd ask if I could watch because I'd rather be the last 3 remaining in the world than sacrifice one of my family for a bunch of people I don't give a shit about.

" A portion of humanity has been judged" 1/4 of planet dies.

why would a murder change the judgement of any other people?
