Let Me Get This Off My Chest About Auburn

It's a Georgia troll a response wasn't necessary.

I mean if you use the logic on what a "great" program is or isn't to some people on this board, the B1G only has one power program (Ohio State), the Big12/Pac12 have 0, and the ACC just has Clemson and maybe Florida State because Auburn, Florida, and LSU have all had elite National Champion teams since the last time many of the other so called power programs have won anything (i.e. Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, and USC).

You can argue about that one. I guess it depends on what you define as a "power" but I would say Auburn could arguably be in the top 10 programs right now and is definitely top 15. You put Auburn in the B1G, for example, they are the second strongest program over last 20 years in that league.

Auburn has also been consistently good for a long time. Even in the 1980s and 1990s, Auburn had good teams and were winning 10 games every once in a while. They had a drop off in late 1990s and early 2000s until Tommy Tuberville brought them back to prominence in the 2003/2004 time period. Tuberville had some good Auburn teams and then you had the Gene Chizik title run in 2010 and then Gus has had some good teams although he only played for a title in 2013.
In the most liberal definition, you might can call them a historic power, but they’ve always played second fiddle and are on the losing end to both of their biggest rivals both recently and historically

Auburn dug themselves in a hole and deserve the smack they are getting. It’s ridiculous where we currently all because it’s all self imposed and honestly we deserve it from the way we acted. We are 3 years from a rebuild if we make the right decisions now and if not could be a decade.

I’ve got no control so looking forward to basketball which will won’t be as good as last year but an interesting year.

You guys are having the same problems as Tennessee but I doubt you will continue the stupidity for 15 years so that should cheer you up. Auburn has played with fire with canning successful coaches (first Tubberville and then Malzahn). Sometimes you luck out like how Georgia did with trading Richt for Smart but other times you can totally collapse like Tennessee did when they got rid of Fulmer.

I agree with the post in here that, at the very least, these schools should have a good "hire" in mind prior to firing a successful coach.

Georgia fans are just ridiculous right now lol... On VolNation, one of them stated how Tennessee won all their big games at Neyland but was countered by the fact that Georgia had both of its big games in Georgia (Tennessee and Oregon) and the SEC title game is in Atlanta. So Georgia, has technically, not won a meaningful road game yet. Also, it is funny how they are talking down Tennessee when we are, by far, their best win of the year.

Georgia doesn’t have to talk anyone up. It pays to be a winner.

Odd definition on your part.

Is Purdue dominate since they have a winning record against their two biggest rivals (Illinois and Indiana)?

Wasn't harsin like their 4th choice too....I thought they missed on some big names before settling on him
It is hard to say, so let me put it like this: The people that today tell you today that Auburn and Freeze have been hammering out the contract over the last week or so are the same ones that three days ago said Auburn offered and Kiffin accepted a deal. I am not saying it won't be Freeze but I was saying that it might not be Kiffin. There is a lot of bad clickbait being presented as fact. Those who really know are not saying anything.

You're hired to start organizing the logistics.

I'll need a team of 6-8 analysts, at least three Asians
We will require a standard per diem based on GSA rates for Southeastern Alabama
And I'll need the office rotated so that my windows face west

Out of curiosity, if they wanted to get a Hugh Freeze-type coach, why not grabbed Bobby Petrino from Missouri State?

They would hate late October/November up North, too cold for them pussies. Saw it first hand in September some years back.

Possibly but then again Ohio State complains about rain and snow and they play up there.

I would say the hardest place to play for Snow is likely Colorado or Utah. They have snow 9 out of 12 months in the Rockies.

Good God Barn hires Fat Bruce and Freeze. If Bama cant bring back Pruitt we riot

not everything is about Saban

The sticking point in contract negotiations was he wanted to hire an all blonde female staff, and he would get two new Harley's a year along with a top 5 coaching salary.

I feel that they need someone big. Playing in that conference, the expectations, the money they have, etc. I am not sure any of these "looks good now because they are 9-3, 10-2" G5 coaches fit the bill for Auburn. This is a program that wants to win the division, conference, and be in the running for a CFP slot. I know it expands to 12 teams in the near future and all that. They have had 11 double digit win seasons since I was born (almost half a century).

So, who is this 'big" name I speak of? You tell me.

That’s the thing the pool is so shallow and the old way of doing this doesn’t necessarily work anymore.

I’m at the point where I think we have do things differently and take a risk on Prime Time or let Caddy take the reins.

The old white dude CEO role isn’t necessarily what is going to work in the future.

Do like LSU and USC did last season.

Throw a pile of $$ at someone that they can't refuse.

I think Dabo Swinney is more vulnerable than people think and Auburn could throw a shit ton of money at him and pull him in.
