Let's Predict CFP Rankings Again

The real question is if Alabama loses to Georgia who does the committee put in to take out Cincinnati....probably Oklahoma...eventually.

Correct. If OU drops a game, still could be Cincy.

Let's just say Oklahoma wins out and pretty convincingly. I feel the Sooners have to jump some teams, of course the ones that end up losing, but Cincy will be on the outs if the Sooners pull this off.

The committee favors the SEC and B1G over all conferences by far. Oregon is up there bc of their H2H win vs Ohio St. Oklahoma likely has to go undefeated I guess is what they are saying at this point

usually when H2H is tossed aside its b/c the losing team has a much better overall resume. That isn't the case in UM vs MSU as both teams each have one win against a team that is currently ranked by the committee. Additionally, MSU's best win is much better than Michigan's. Michigan's loss is better than MSU's loss, but the committee did decide to rank Purdue #19, which is one spot below Michigan's signature win in #18 Wisconsin.

Not gonna lie, this committee is by far the one that I have the least confidence in so far.

When it was Barry Alvarez, Frank Beamer, Jeff Bower, Tom Osborne...I could get behind most of those guys. Now it seems like everyone on the committee is an Athletic Director. Sorry, I know too many of them that I don't trust already.

I prefer it to the alternative, but shit.

Let's be honest about Oklahoma. OU has been luckier than a three-peckered billy goat winning one-score games all season against so-so competition. But the team got lucky when Caleb Williams took over at QB and saved us against Texas. And he's kept playing well. However, that F'in defense is sketchy and the hope now is some of the injured returnees will improve things. BUT our next three games should be ass kickings if Oklahoma is going to be anywhere near ready to be in the Playoff. If we can't beat Baylor (road), Iowa State (home) and Jr. (road) convincingly then who are we kidding? If we can't do that, then going to the Playoff will be just another situation where we'll be sticking our ass up in the air and shouting "Come and get it, boys!"

Hoping Bama lose to Auburn which should end any chance of the SEC getting more than 1

You know when they let a douche from Iowa lead the committee, it will be hard to trust anything they do

lol at someone’s Wikipedia edit

Gary Barta (born September 4, 1963) is the current athletic director at the University of Iowa. He succeeded Bob Bowlsby on 1 August 2006, when Bowlsby stepped down after 15 years as Iowa's athletic director to take the same position at Stanford University. His father is Jim Harbaugh.

Really enjoying my MSU friends meltdown over a pointless ranking that will be sorted out once both teams play Ohio state.

True. While OU's ass ain't that good looking, it may end up being the most attractive one when everyone is through getting their britches pulled down.

It makes zero sense. Why have head 2 head? I can only imagine they took into consideration the B1G admitting the mistake on sack/fumble TD they overturned, which almost assuredly changes the outcome of the game?

Other than that -- it doesn't seem to make sense? UM has a better loss??? But the loss was to the team they are next to in the rankings. I just don't get the CFP?

Committee hates Oklahoma.

Bama is going to have to win out to get in this year, IMO. I don't see them taking a 2 loss Bama with the other close games they've had with LSU and Florida.

I hear you but when does H2H matter? They love to pick and choose when H2H matter and when it doesn't.

Lame
Personally I argued with UM fans saying no chance we are ranked ahead of MSU (I'm a UM fan). My ONLY thought is -- UM controlled much of the game and in all honesty, would have essentially ended the game, after the strip sack fumble recovered in the end zone for a TD. For some reason it was overturned, then the B1G came out and said they made a mistake.
That is the only reason I think they could make that decision ?!? In the end, it will play out on the field. UM and MSU are a whole lot of smoke and mirrors this year. It will be settled when we both play OSU.

That being said -- bet the over in the MSU OSU game. MSU ranks dead last in pass defense in CFB. OSU will pass for 700 yards if they want to. OSU struggles with physical teams who can run the ball -- that is MSU, so look for K9 to have a huge game.

Oregon would have to beat Utah twice, once on the road and once in ccg. WSU and OSU at home should be winnable but with the way they’ve been playing not confident.

Oky wins out I think it’s nothing short of a guarantee they’re in if Uga beats Bama and Oregon/tOSU win out.

In the scenario where Uga, Oregon, Ohio State and Oky are the teams at the end, I wonder if Oky would jump Ohio State to avoid a rematch between Ducks Bucks.
