This is Riley's 7th year as Offensive Coordinator.
Does it look like we are getting any better??
I am still puzzled as to how LSU messed up with Aranda. That seemed like the best option. LSU should have not fired Odgeron. Karma is eventually going to catch up to schools like Auburn, Florida, and LSU who have been quick to fire coaches and seem to get decent replacements. Tennessee hasn't had the same fortune in the past and it is about time that some of our rivals start to struggle like we did.
Did Aranda get a new contract? Otherwise I think he is headed to USC.
Riley's staying. But I'd trade him in a New York minute for Aranda since we're going to the SEC. Riley's not setting the world on fire now that he has to develop his own QB. Caleb Williams actually regressed the more he played. Rattler melted down. Now where are we? And that O line is horrendous. Absolutely embarrassing and OU is expecting that bunch to be able to block people in the SEC? Sweet Jesus. Fat, slow and stupid is a bad combination........which hurts Caleb Williams' development. OU's receivers are definitely a notch below what we're used to which has something to do with Caleb Williams not developing (yet) the way we all hoped he would. And the defensive secondary with its Ole' Defense as receivers catch anything around them, compliments of Alex Grinch, is just more of the same old D we have seen for years. They are not good tacklers and the whole team has waaaaaay the fuck too many penalties. Riley's GOT to toughen up. Getting a different O line coach would be a good start. Giving Grinch one more year to improve things a LOT would be a smart move. And delegating someone to do nothing but watch film of teams around the country when their second string is on the field would be a priority now for any smart head coach so he could use the transfer portal as a supplemental draft. OU is a 9-3 team right now in the SEC. Too thin on talent, not tough enough in the trenches and way behind when it comes to game management. By the way, good game yesterday and best of luck in the CCG.The catch is there is literally one person like that and he's maybe 3 years from retirement at Bama.
I'll laugh my ass off if Riley bolts for LSU and the reality is its very unlikely you hire someone better. There are something like 5 guys that can make their team a playoff contender year after year and he is one of them. If LSU is offering stupid money for him to bolt so be it. But you guys should be offering stupid money for him to stay, because option B is stupid money and 50/50 you are paying stupid buyout money 4 years from now.
It was never a lateral move, fetus. It’d be a step down.OU to LSU seems like a lateral move, especially with OU coming to the SEC now.

OU struggled with Tulane. And West Virginia, Kansas State, Texas's worst team in 50 years and Iowa State. OU was losing most of the game against Kansas. And they got beat by Baylor and OSU. This year's Oklahoma team would have lost 4 games in the SEC. The OU football program is staggering right now and it's coming at the worst possible time. Any OU fan who expects to see another CFP in the near future had better be hoping they don't leave it at 4 teams.A lot of the major SEC programs with the exception of Alabama and Georgia are also struggling right now as well. I mean, look at my thread regarding Bowl Eligibility. I think that shows more the mediocrity of some of the major SEC programs rather than the success of the league.
Florida and LSU, especially, were projected to be in far better shape right now and both have been epic letdowns.
I heard on a podcast, Booger McFarland expects a coach to be named Monday....I'm hearing Jason Garrett to LSU, for what that's worth.
