That didn't surprise me at all considering the clusterfuck of a season USC just had and the ESD stuff. The ESD commits took the safe route, evidently.
I think they will have a somewhat decent class after the regular signing day coming up next. I'm not saying Top 25, of course, but their class will likely be MUCH higher than they are now (somewhere around 86th?)...
But who knows for sure?

Yeah, the Helton being a lame duck then fired after the first 2 games hurt them.
USC has always been a strong closer in recruiting. Prior to the ESD's anyway. I'd guess they rebound into the Top 20 come February.

Question is can Riley come in year one and get the talent already there to play to their strengths and potential.
Do that and the south should be theirs.
They don't need a SEC level roster to win the shitty Pac and put themselves back on the map. That will jump start their recruiting for sure.

The class will improve, there is still a lot of talent out there and several have USC on their final list.
Also, the 2023 class is currently ranked 6th in the country, 1st in the pac.

Oregon always goes cheap on their coaches which is why they are always leaving for programs that are in complete disarray.

Really like the Henson hire. Been seeing a lot of rumbling Riley is pursuing Demarco Murray as their RB coach. SC sources saying he was close to accepting Sunday night but OU slowed it down. Offering a pay raise and upping his job title. Either way Murray is getting a raise and a promotion. You hearing any talk out your way Thiefery?

have no idea why anyone would want Murray. He couldn't close on Jase, Camar, or LJ in the past. I don't want to hear about development on the field.. Most important thing for a RB to learn is blocking, everything else is natural. RB coach should be a rainmaker that can assist other recruiting positions.

Recognizable former pros tend to be able to land recruits, question is can they actually coach them up? College basketball is a good example of this currently. Penny Hardaway has a kings ransom at Memphis but cant coach for shit so his team will be lucky to make the tournament.

Basketball positions and the RB are not the same. Not sure what Penny deal is but as far as a RB coach, they need to be witches. Might as well add WR coaches to the list nowadays too.
Demarco is being credited for bringing in Eric Gray last spring through the portal, and Sawchuk this cycle. Let see what he has up his sleeve for the '23 class or even the portal.. especially without the sell of a LR offense
