Lithium batteries don't go in the house.

Its interesting to see how battery technology is evolving. I'd like to see them get beyond lithium to something more stable.

depends on a lot of things...size of boat, when you are on it...need running lights and whatnot if you are gonna have it out at night

I wonder how many lithium battery fires there are compared to the number of lithium batteries. How does it compare to COVID?

It seems like too much handwringing over exceedingly rare occurrences.

Pffft. Fuck that. I'll keep my 2 full heads with showers, hot water and a nice fart fan...and A/C...and 2 fridges...and TV...and a microwave and 4 burner stove...and...

Sleeping on the boat would suck without old Rocky and Bullwinkle shows.

I'd tend to agree, BUT after seeing these videos, I'll tell my kids that if their scooters/hoverboards or whatever do catch fire, they need to get the fuck away from them - don't try to put them out.

Yes, I understand that. But any impact to that battery could cause it to explode. That's what makes me nervous about Teslas and other EVs.

Hit a deep pothole and BOOM.

Lithium batteries aren't allowed in commercial flight luggage because the Halon fire suppression system won't put out the fire. Those fuckers will just keep burning until that airplane is a ball of exploding flame! Even an electric toothbrush would be catastrophic.
