i mean, the legendary steely dan would never dream of having darryl hall in the chorus of one of their quintessential songs, as they did with mcdonald. could you imagine? ha!

it's really not close, but hey, if you wanna agree to disagree, that's fine too.

I am a huge fan of Steely Dan and I like Hall & Oates as well as Daryl Hall's show.

Hall & Oates had more top 10 Billboard hits (6 number 1's to zero) than Steely Dan did and were far more popular and successful with the masses. Add in the differences in the east coast/west coast roots of the two groups and it's match that wasn't going to happen.

ask any actual musician, or anybody that knows anything about actual music, which group they'd prefer between hall and fucking oates and steely dan, and the response will be overwhelmingly for the latter, guaranteed.

Watched last night and they had the O'Jays from, I Think from 2016.

It was awesome

I never said anything about Hall and Oats specifically. But they did have their run for sure. Musicianship.....you can make cases for both.

And (not a knock on Oats) who was a great songwriter) but Daryl Hall brought the musicianship chops to them.

I was speaking to Daryl Hall. Not that I have any issue with Steely Dan at all.

I’ve been watching this series for a long time. The O’jays were great. I’m not a big Rob Thomas fan but he did a nice job when he was there...

I'll have to text my daughter and let her know, she get's her name from a Hall and Oates tune and she sure does smile a lot.

Yup, we picked that name when Mrs. Racer was pregnant for our first child and we ended up having a boy, then another boy a year later and finally we got our little smiling Sara 4 years after that.
