None of the ones where I grew up had gas, but admittedly, that was nearly 30 years ago. Now places like Costco and Wal Mart sell fuel. It's crazy town.
But mainly, I just wanted a chance to do this

Nah, they were all over the Southeast when I was living there. We had them in North and South Carolina and I've seen them in Tennessee, Georgia, and Kentucky

no. i know that they have them in the Carolinas. I haven't been in quite a few years, but whenever we'd hit up Myrtle Beach, the piggly wiggly in town was always my go-to for beer
I'm in NC on a yearly basis (twice last year) and Food Lion is the big grocery chain I see all over the place.

All over the place here in Mississippi. We have Walmart, Whole Foods, Fresh Market and Kroger if you need groceries. There are a few small independent grocers too. I have two Kroger within 5 miles of my house.
There was an episode of That 70s Show where they went to a Piggly Wiggly. No idea if that show's historically accurate but since then I've always assumed Wisconsin had Piggly Wigglys since at least the 70sWebsite says they're in Minnesota and Wisconsin now:

Publix used to be Florida only, but they're all over the south now. I know this because of the job orientation for that time I worked at a Publix for a few months in high school. Hated that place. Haven't been clean shaven since I quit.
