We have a similar team to Creighton. It's Northern Iowa. It doesn't bother Hawkeye or Clowns fans if people root for them.

Yeah I’m not going to lie, that irritates me because that shit happens in PA a bunch with the pro teams. I work with about 5 guys that are Steeler football fans and Phillies baseball fans. It’s pretty annoying when ethier of those teams doesn’t suck.
Also awkward: when someone bitches about people supporting both schools, yet said bitcher is noticeably absent from the basketball threads for the "their" team.

Serious question, do you ever listen to Cretin games on the radio with John Bishop? I can't even listen to radio ads of him calling Cretin games. It hurts my ears. Does he just scream the entire game?
No. I can't do radio broadcast basketball. And Bishop is insufferable. Can't stand that guy.

I don't mind him for the most part on his afternoon talk show on 1620. But he is absolutely impossible to listen to call a game, almost like he's trying too hard to be have some "signature sound" or something. If I'm flipping thru stations and hear him calling a Cretin game, that dial gets turned so fast. (It would get turned anyway simply because it's a Cretin game, but he makes it turn even faster)
I don't think I've ever listened to a Creighton game on the radio. Listened to many husker games, up until about the time Danny Nee left.

It really depends on the relationship he has with the players. If he has a good relationship with his team, they will move on and consider it a bad choice of words. If his players already don't like him, he might not survive it. Considering I hadn't heard of this story until now, I'm guessing it's the former.
