I think they would probably just donate those to the homeless shelters too.

man...sports cards are such a shitty investment.

I still have a bunch of mine in the basement and I should just toss them in the firepit.
Depends on what you have.

I have a Barry Sanders rookie, Ken Griffey Jr, Brett Favre (which I didn't even realize I had till last night)

I'm fortunate to still have both of my 'rents, so I can't speak to the former, but just discussion about who might get what, or even thinking about it. I don't care for it.
Same. My Father is at that stage now where he is making lists as to who gets what. He even has his funeral instructions which really creeped me out

BTW thanks for the reply Debbie Downer

I get you being creeped out, but I also get the instructions.

Along those lines, two weekends ago, I started to compile a playlist on Spotify titled When I'm Cooked, that I would like to be played at my post-life shindig.

Dad is going to be 80 later this month....

I am just surprised there is still a sportscard industry...
There are tons of cards. Which is what helped kill the bubble when I was a teenager

Are you still committed to the Lido Shuffle for this playlist?

I certainly want to honor his wishes so I will soldier on with it

What going through your parents' stuff after they pass? Or trying to decide who gets what?
That shit sucks.

My MIL and one of her sisters are still somewhat awkward around each other since a blow-up over stuff from cleaning out their mother's house 10 years ago.

Not that I will have much to pass on to my kids, but one of the rules will be that anything that gets fought over winds up in the trash.
