GAME Louisville at Notre Dame - NBC

Kinda funny that N.D. is struggling with the 1-3 Cardinals. And that onside kick penalty. Never seen that called in a game before.

End 3rd Quarter

7 Louisville
12 Notre Dame

UND wanting to run as much clock out as they can with this drive.

UL can't make any stops on this drive.

What was the penalty ?

That should do it.

The Fighting Irish remain unbeaten all-time in conference play.

I've never seen it called, but according to the rules, it was the correct call.

I'm not even sure Notre Dame is a top 15 team.

Top 4 is pretty easy with Bama, Clemson, OSU and UGA. At this point I'd probably put A&M and UF 5th and 6th. Maybe PSU but who the hell knows, and they play OSU week 2 for them so they'll be 1-1 at that point.

Yeah Book was pretty brutal today.

Gotta say, it was pretty dayum windy out there, today, but cotdayum .... the scheme, play calls & overall anemic offense against a so-called crap D at home results in this???

Absolute ugly win against an inferior team.

No way this team deserves a #4 ranking .... laughable at was trotted on the field, today.

Yep. And that's all that matters. What happened to N.D. today, did they take the Cards too lightly? Wasn't expecting a score like that. Didn't see the whole game. Just from about midway through the 3rd on.

That was... unsatisfying.

Not only will we get wrecked by Clemson, UNC will wreck us too if we play like this.

I don't think they took them lightly, ND let Louisville hang around, and then that gave Louisville some momentum/confidence in the 2nd half. It was a low possession game, and ND settled for two FG's and tried a fake on another in the first half. They were awful in the redzone. If they finish off those drives with TD's it's a much different game. The biggest problem for ND is that they don't have a WR capable of stretching the field consistently. Losing Claypool is a bigger loss than most, including myself, probably realized. We pretty much have to play like a Wisconsin this year, which limits possessions, and when you get inside the 20, 3 times in the half and only get 6 points total, that's going to lead to games being closer than they should. Worst part is Louisville is pretty bad on D. All the way around it was a bad game from an execution standpoint.

Here’s a thought. Play your burners (Lenzy abd Austin) more if you’re not getting separation.

ND over the years has maddeningly kept their talent off the field in favor of an overly complex scheme. Think Joe Schmidt over Niles Morgan. Hell the NW transfer was supposed to start over McKinley and McKinley sadly is the best one out there.
There is no good excuse to keep the better athletes off the field.
