I'll accept that (as someone who's gotten lasik)Mrs Redfoot doesn’t appreciate it when I refer to folks who wear glasses as disabled. But they are. Everything’s relative.
In case he wanders off into a crowd and gets lost? Nah, seriously it's a great achievement; difficult for anyone. I can't even run a half-marathon anymore.

Neither do I. Seems like a liability for the swimming portion, if they used it there.im not trying to be insensitive, but I don’t understand being tethered to the old guy.
I would never to a triathlon because I am not a fan of water and don't swim well. An ultra is on my bucket listI feel like there are some truly insane people out there doing some of those "races"
the ultramarathoners terrify me.
it is required for visually impaired swimmersNeither do I. Seems like a liability for the swimming portion, if they used it there.
I hated running when I was younger and even made fun of people that ran for the sake of running. In my mid-30's something just clicked and i love itGood for him.
I’ll never understand people that run for fun. If you see me running, there’s something chasing me that a .45 won’t bring down.
I had a buddy in high school who was in really good shape. Ran a lot, biked a lot...but didn't do much for the swim portion. He mainly thought any time he lost on the swim he'd made up on the run or bike.I would never to a triathlon because I am not a fan of water and don't swim well. An ultra is on my bucket list
Yea that would be me. I would either drown or they would have to rescue me. I would rather run twice the distance if they would let me skip the swim portionI had a buddy in high school who was in really good shape. well they ended up pulling him out of the water lol
I enjoy heavy lifting and swimming, but I don’t run. It’s been so long since I’ve rode a bicycle, I’d probably bust my assI hated running when I was younger and even made fun of people that ran for the sake of running. In my mid-30's something just clicked and i love it
Its strictly for safety. They can untie themselves if need be. There are actually a lot of vision impaired/blind people that run marathons. They are either tethered or run with a guide.Neither do I. Seems like a liability for the swimming portion, if they used it there.
I have always enjoyed working out. I went through the lifting phase, then cardio, then yoga. Running has totally changed my life.I enjoy heavy lifting and swimming, but I don’t run. It’s been so long since I’ve rode a bicycle, I’d probably bust my ass
Already get the Deliverance comments, I can do without the Gump commentsI have always enjoyed working out. I went through the lifting phase, then cardio, then yoga. Running has totally changed my life.
I hear people say all of the time "I wish I could run but I am not a runner" Anyone can be a runner, but not everyone wants to be and that's cool. You either love or or hate it.
I was a football guy. The only time I was interested in running was on the field. I thought people that ran long distance were just pussies. Marathons are brutal. Ultra's are just a test of your will. My favorite Ultra runner is a guy named Scott Jurek. Average looking guy physically, nothing exceptional athletically. In fact, his marathon times are pretty average at best. But the Ultra's are a whole different level and its not really about speed its about pushing yourself to the limit. Jurek ran the App Trail in 40 some days.Already get the Deliverance comments, I can do without the Gump comments
I will agree with you thereSome things I'm able to see humour in, others I don't.
I don't find disabilities particularly funny.
I was runner in HS and college. I've been road cycling for a few decades. Once I decided to do my first triathlon, I thought "hey, I've been swimming my whole life...no problem." jumped in the pool ripped off about 500m and could barely use my arms to push myself out of the pool. That's when I learned there is a huge difference between swimming and SWIMMING.I had a buddy in high school who was in really good shape. Ran a lot, biked a lot...but didn't do much for the swim portion. He mainly thought any time he lost on the swim he'd made up on the run or bike.

Yeah, I know. Except this guy didn't seem to be vision impaired or blind. He did the bike portion untethered, for example. Its strictly for safety. They can untie themselves if need be. There are actually a lot of vision impaired/blind people that run marathons. They are either tethered or run with a guide.
