Manager of the Year

I don't remember there being "finalists" for these awards in the past.

just fucking announce the winners

This particular year, there's really only one choice anyway.

Should be Kapler. Weren’t even supposed to make playoffs and they won 107 games and division

I hate to say it, but it's Kapler by a mile. Servais should win the AL award.

Lol at the Cardinals firing Shildt and then have be a finalist for NL Manager of year
same goes for Kapler and the Phillies

but he wasn't a fit in Philly

Anyone of these guys would be worthy of the award.

It’s Kapler and it ain’t particularly close. That team was supposed to be flirting with 90 losses, instead they won 107 with very little star power

Wasn’t there a man NBA coach that got fired after the season and won coach of the year a few years back? I don’t watch roundball, but I remember that being a topic of discussion

Lol at shildt or counsell. All of these awards are a joke. The Golden Gloves being the biggest joke. And Ryan Mountcastle led all rookies in homeruns and was voted by his peers as the best rookie. He was not even a finalist.

Not to mention baseball's inability to even market these awards.

Kapler did a shitty job as manager of the Phillies.

He deserved to be a finalist.

He had a very talented team in San Francisco despite what the experts thought prior to the season.
And he won 107 games with them. There really is no discussion for a manager that couldn’t even force a game 5 when his team was a heavy favorite and had HFA in the NLDS like Councill

The Brewers had one of the worst hitting teams in baseball but still won their division.

I know you're trying to provide Counsell a shot here, but Kapler is going to win the award - quite possibly unanimously.

I love the Brewers and think Counsell does a great job of managing the team and absolutely should be one of the top 3 managers considered for the award, but this award goes to the guy whose team overachieves the greatest and that was Kapler this year. There's really not a whole lot to discuss.
