Managers on the hot seat

Shocking the Cardinals got rid of a guy that got into the post-season 3 straight years, and twice put together late season runs to get them into the post-season. Cardinals hung with the Dodgers too in that WC game.

Surprised that there has been so little movement so far. Padres seemed obvious, but baseball certainly has much more patience with their managers then other pro-sports do with their head coaches. For instance, the Orioles and Rockies job would have opened two weeks ago if this was the NFL or NBA.

The Cardinals were picked to win the division but fell short.

Padres fans....Personally I think Ron Washington would be a TERRIBLE choice for a manager. I would definitely look elsewhere if I were you guys.

There were projection systems that had them missing the playoffs and some even had them below .500. ZiPS projected them for 83-85 wins, FanGraphs' Depth Chart projections had them at 79 wins, and PECOTA had them as a .500 team. I'd argue the Cardinals overachieved this year, if anything.

Sounds like there was either a power struggle or Schildt did something inappropriate.

Do not ever waste real information on Gigi. You know better than that.

Even money Shildt has a new job within 2 weeks.

Padres would make since. They fired their manager because of a second half collapse. Shildt lead his team to a second half surge.

He didn't win the division. Expectations are high in St. Louis.

Maybe the Brewers should can Counsell. After all, that's now three consecutive early exits after making it to Game 7 of the 2018 NLCS.

I doubt Counsell will be canned after winning the division.

This. 1000x THIS!

He’s not being serious. We love Wash in his role with the Braves. Chain smoking and teaching the infielders how to pick it. He gets a lot of credit for our excellent infield defense, especially the double play combo

Mozelliak apparently wants to be president, general manager, AND manager. He's not good at any of them.

Have you actually seen or heard of the Cards general manager? I doubt it.

Mozelliak sucks. He must have a pic of a DeWitt fucking a goat or something.

I guess the Brewers don't have any playoff expectations beyond making it. What a garbage franchise.

Actually the Brewers have been in the playoffs quite a few times recently. I'm sure their expectations were to get to the World Series like any other team. You are a Red Sox fan so you should know all about garbage.
