What are the coaches gonna do, yell from the sideline to throw it away and stop the clock if nobody's open in the end zone? Tua didn't even know where the first down marker was which would have stopped the clock and they could spike it.

That's just a lack of awareness by the Maryland QB.

Take the 3 and go into the half in the lead … if you are going to go for it, it should be clear end zone or nothing.
