Mayfield traded to Carolina

Does this trade make Carolina a contender?

amen

The Browns went 1-31, drafted the guy who'd be their best QB since Kosar, he took them to a playoff win in year 3 for the first time in decades (and nearly a AFCCG appearance), gets hurt and still has them in playoff contention and then they dump him for a guy who Roethlisberger thinks is too much of a serial sex offender and is staring down a year+ long suspension. The serial sex offender's contract is also so backloadedly expensive it'll cause an inevitable roster gutting, and instead of trying to maximize on that year where the serial sex offender's contract doesn't count much against the cap they're going into the year with Jacoby Brissett and Josh Dobbs as QBs.

This is why the Browns are the Browns.
They’d also like a new stadium.

any third stringer could replace Darnold

Mayfield is a weird case. Ignoring the drama that seems to surround him often, he goes from being an above average QB to barely playable every other year. i would love to give him a pass for being injured this past season, but what's the excuse for 2019?
