ESPN has been a punchline for awhile now. It prefers wokeness to athletics, puts on bass fishing and spelling bees over sports, and coverage of actual sports has been thin and declining for years. Promoting a high school game that turns out to be a blowout against a fake team seems almost a likely stunt.
