Rattler is a 5 star with a championship and a ton of P5 experience as a starter under his belt and even with his shortcomings I’d say Riley is a better QB coach than Harbs so.. be a good fit and Michigan would have depth at the position

OU needs to pray Rattler gets red hot and tears the place up so he has every reason to get highly drafted after this season or he continues to be a bust and Riley finally throws in the towel by making Caleb Williams OU's permanent starter. If it's anything between those two extremes, there is a risk Rattler will hang around another year and that's when we risk losing Caleb Williams. Anything that risks the disenchantment of Caleb Williams is a stupid thing to do. Yeah......he's that important to the next few years for OU to have a crying chance of winning in the SEC.

Doubt it. He didn't "shave" giving up 14 points in less than 2 minutes to start the game and Texas scoring 28 points in the first quarter. And he did nail the pass for the 2-point conversion. He's just a crappy QB this year because he's developed a case of the yips. He's honest enough; he just can't make decisions worth a damn for some reason. Forget putting him through a coaching clinic; dude needs a psychiatrist.

Riley isn’t going to risk losing Williams. He is smart enough to know that Rattler isn’t going to get OU a natty and while it’s yet to be seen if Williams can either but right now has a higher probability.

Riley will have this sorted by the end of the year and most likely in the next couple of games but he has to give Rattler a shot at redeeming himself (which we all know he won’t) to send the message to his team and recruits that everyone gets a fair shot.

He doesn’t have to have a long leash to accomplish this so you are going to see Rattler start with Williams coming in around the third series as a designed plan. What happens after that depends on how both of them are performing.

I don’t see Rattler handling the pressure well especially after his dad’s comments. If that is what he is hearing in his ear then he is halfway out the door and probably using way too much head space to figure out where he is going to go.

Williams on the other hand has one focus and that is OU and winning the job.

UM sounds like a great place for him because he can see Harbaugh’s psychiatrist.

And the determining factor will be how the TEAM responds to each QB.
It was obvious, that when Caleb came in, it was a different team. The other players picked up their game.
I'm pretty sure which guy they want.

It shouldn't be that hard for Riley to make up his mind.

He's been in the system 3 years now, and isn't progressing.
We are 6-0 in spite of Rattler, not because of Rattler.

Adrian Martinez did last year but then again there aren’t many articles out there saying Rattler is a team first player. In fact, I read the opposite- but it could have been written by an OU hater.

It sounds like a great idea, but with the way CFB is today -- Rattler would essentially be transferring in for 1 year, which could make McCarthy transfer because he doesn't want to wait another year. It is a double edged sword. They could gain a year with Rattler, but lose 3 years of McCarthy.
