Meetchickens cheating

I think the problem with the NIL and Portal stuff is that it's very hard to prove any "wrong doing" by the actual schools. It would take some very obvious and direct evidence for the NCAA to be able to go after anything involving that.

Even though its probably obvious to everyone that there is constant tampering and shady behavior going on with it. The school can just play dumb everytime and claim it was outside collectives doing everything (which is allowed) and they had zero actual involvement.
Imagine the beatings UM will give Ohio State if UM does something with NIL. This is our first foray into the Portal, other than taking on a grad transfer here or there.

Now we are buying hamburgers for recruits and going over the weekly allotted football activity time by 20 minutes -- Michigan is pulling out all the stops. I think UM hangs 100 on OSU next year.

They know all those cheating kids are are going to be declared ineligible
Which one's -- the kids who fleeced the NCAA with a free hamburger? Or the one's who were forced to do summer conditioning for skipping class?

They should have demonstrated their studiousness by taking an Aide Awareness class like Andy Katzenmoyer

"Why aren't we cheating?"

Nebraska Football

We did a couple years ago. Unsanctioned practices earned us a slap on the wrist and 3 whole wins.

we did a few years ago...

we gave "optional" textbooks to students to help them learn...

bad bad bad Nebraska

The "textbooks" violation was under Pelini.

The violations under Frost were for using an "analyst" to coach special teams, and using an off campus weight room during Covid.

"The NCAA indicated Nebraska, Frost and NCAA enforcement staff agreed that Rutledge provided technical or tactical instruction to student-athletes during practices and film sessions. He also assisted in tactical decisions during games. Because he was a non-coaching staff member, his instruction of student-athletes caused the program to exceed the number of permissible coaches, which is in violation of NCAA rules."

"when the NCAA prohibited organized athletic activities because of the pandemic — Nebraska relocated its strength workouts to an undisclosed off-campus location to avoid detection by non-football school officials."

Of course neither of Frost's violations seemed to help the Huskers. LOL

@cwerph Why the bullshit? That came right from Clarett's mouth. Here is another quote from him.

"I took golf, fishing, and softball as classes," Clarett says. "Away from class, anything you can think of I did in my 13 months at Ohio State." Drugs and women were two of the things. Cars were another—he owned three of them at a time, including a brand-new Cadillac and Lexus. "I was living the NFL life in college," he says. "I got paid more in college than I do now in the UFL."

It didn't come right from Clarett's mouth. It was him being "quoted" for a book about a coach leaving a CEO job to coach in the UFL. One which Clarett later claimed he had things taken out of context.

Did Clarett get illegal benefits while in college? Absolutely and so does every star athlete including the ones at almighty Michigan. Problem is he let it go a little too far into his head and let his life spiral out of control. He's gotten it back on track and Ohio State has been there for him when he was doing so.

As far as the golf, fishing, softball classes I took joke classes while in college too. Took a volleyball class, yoga class (figured it would let me see some hot girls and it turned out to be me and 10 other dudes), and a class called sports for the spectator. They were full ins to get that one or two extra credit hours to keep the people giving me scholarships happy

I also find it funny that Michigan fans are deflecting to Ohio State so bad in this thread.

Saying things like only the last two games matter, stop bringing up ancient history, while bringing up Andy Katzenmoyer and Maurice Clarett.
