We recognize our fallen warriors on Memorial Day. I'll take time to honor this officer, with whom I served just prior to his deployment to Iraq:
Army Captain William W. Jacobsen Jr.
Died December 21, 2004 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom
31, of Charlotte, N.C.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Wash.; killed Dec. 21 when his base dining facility was attacked in Mosul, Iraq.
He left behind a wife and four young children.
