The oline and lack of impact at WR is going to make that really hard.

Ronnie Bell is ok I guess but after him they really have nobody, nobody proven at least but its a crap shoot of low 4 star and 3 stars

We are getting hit hard with some of these early NFL departures and opt-outs. WR should be OK, but outside of Bell it's going to be a young group. My guess is that it's going to be Ronnie Bell, Cornelius Johnson and Mike Sainristill/AJ Henning. Really wish we had Nico though.

The OL should be fine. We're finally at a spot where we have tons of depth. In the last two recruiting classes we've taken 9 lineman. I'm just glad we didn't have a DT opt out, then we'd be fucked.

He has two years of eligibility left; hard to call anyone a bust who hasn't played. And McCaffrey did beat out Peters -- which is why McCaffrey was Shea's backup and not Peters...who transferred when he lost that spot.

When McCaffrey was healthy, he was getting playing time. Before injury issues last year he was starting to take time away from Shea, especially for running plays. He played in 7 games last season. Played in the first 3, got injured and didn't play until the end of the year.

So, again, I think it's a positive that Milton beat out a guy the staff has been trying to get on the field for 2 years but injuries have always sidelined him.

And he played in the first 3 games where the offense was struggling, then they gave him a bunch of snaps against Wisconsin (he ended up with 8 pass attempts in that game) before getting concussed. We were getting blown out at the staff pulled Patterson. Had he not been taken out by a concussion, the theory was that he was going to start the following week against Rutgers. But that's not what happened because of injury. He was always right on the cusp of starting before something bad happened.

Yeah, but that was like 2 minutes into the game lol and it wasn't a blowout where we were putting in our 2nd string in our favor. Our starting lineup was in, and they switched QB's.

But it being a blowout was the only reason they were going to give him an extended look IMO. Probably the same reason he may have been the starter the following week because you could have won that game with you or I at QB.

ugh. really going to miss Collins, very underutilized. Losing McCaffrey sucks too though it seems like Milton was ahead of him at this point. Hope he does well wherever he goes.

Not necessarily, just illustrating that just because a kid lost a job and transferred doesn't mean he sucks. It means he wasn't as good (perceived) to the coaching staff as the other guy.

The "Hype" around Milton at the moment is solely based on the very faulty "HES REALLY BIG AND HAS A STRONG ARM THE REST WILL COME LATER" logic that leads NFL teams to get suckered into drafting the JaMarcus Russel's of the world

The job was never awarded to either Haskins or Burrow after Spring Practice in 2018.
Joe found an opportunity to go down to LSU and it worked out fantastically for him and LSU.
